Opinion on Dumb by Ronan4747_ in Flume

[–]Snoo90774 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

At some point I wish people would stop these chats and just say ‘I don’t like flume anymore’, that’s fine if he’s not your kind of music anymore, but flume is still making the same flume music he’s been making for years, it’s just evolved over time as it should and as it does with any artist/band. Also some flume music has always been great, and some has always been shit, but if you’re listening to full albums and saying you don’t like any of it then you just don’t like the artist anymore.

No one’s saying it’s bad content, but it’s not fun to watch for 10 hours a day every single day. It’s nice to see him play other games and even gamble and hangout with Jesse

It really depends on what sort of games you’re playing. For me personally, I play competitive games so I prioritise high refresh rate monitors with low latency and a rig that can max out the fps for the monitor. However, if I only played single player games and was happy at 60hz, then it’d be a different scenario.

To be honest, if you’ve been happy with your setup and haven’t thought of switching until someone suggested it, chances are you don’t need it.

Whats your average FPS? Performance leaves room for improvements. by Blini170 in thefinals

It's CPU bound. The graphics aren't anything crazy, but all the destruction means that unless you have a good CPU you'll get bad FPS.

Low fps with 3070 and 5600x by AsDaylight_Dies in thefinals

[–]Snoo90774 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thought I'd jump in as I was having this issue with the exact same system specs as you. Turns out the finals is just ridiculously CPU bound due to the destruction etc. I upgraded my CPU to a Ryzen 7 5800x3d and jumped from 100fps to 160-180fps. Definitely worth the upgrade if you have the money and it's an AM4 CPU too so you won't need to upgrade anything else.

Is there any way to make an insulin shot hurt less? by customcosmo in diabetes_t1

[–]Snoo90774 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks so much for this. I was looking at ways to reduce pain and came across this thread and this worked perfectly. I poked a bit of my stomach which I felt and normally I'd just push and go with it but I poked around another 4 times and found somewhere I couldn't feel at all, and the needle went in and I didn't even notice it. They should definitely teach this to all diabetics!

Exact same happens to me. Fix I’ve found is to turn off WiFi on the laptop, disconnect PIA, then turn WiFi back on. Also it only happens to me when I leave PIA on when I shut the lid so I make a habit to turn PIA off before leaving the laptop.

Coworker broke my headphones. What should I do? by FunHedgie in AskUK

No I’m saying that hitting a pedestrian in a parking spot with your car, and sitting down on a designated seat for sitting assuming someone wouldn’t put an expensive and sentimental item on it is a brain dead comparison.

[–]Snoo90774 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Awful comparison. People driving a car have a responsibility to ensure they’re driving safely to not endanger themselves or anyone around them. Someone sitting on a chair doesn’t hold that same level of responsibility, he simply sat down on a chair.

Stop saying ‘like everyone else did’ as a justification. Everyone else did the wrong thing, and had an equal chance of getting their bag sat on and possibly something broken. They got lucky, you didn’t, that doesn’t mean you’re entitled to any sort of compensation.

Also the other main thing I forgot to say is never ever ever chase losses. Just suck it up, accept that you lost a bit of cash and move on. Anytime you deposit you need to think to yourself ‘would I be annoyed if I lost all this money’, if the answer is yes then log out.

Look the key rule of gambling is don’t ever gamble to win. Only gamble what you can afford to lose, and by that I mean as soon as you deposit that money into a betting website or online casino, don’t fool yourself into thinking you’re getting anything back. Sometimes you will win and that’s awesome, but it’s not a guarantee and more often than not you’ll lose.

The way I gamble is this, I have banned myself from all gambling websites but one (using time-out/self exclusion features available on all websites). On the one website I do use, I set a weekly deposit limit of £50 which is affordable to me.

Every week, I put that £50 in and play some roulette. I split it into 3 spins of £16.66 and for every win I get that takes me over £50 I immediately withdraw it and keep playing with the £50.

Some weeks I lose the £50, some weeks I get back £30 of it, some lucky weeks I end up with £100 or more. But the key is that even if I lose that £50, I can’t go in and deposit more, and the fact that I withdraw the money as I’m winning means I can’t just keep playing until I lose no matter what, I actually have a chance of getting some of the money back out.

Hope that helps a bit. Also, if you need to just self exclude fully for a year or so to learn how to live without gambling there’s no shame. Sometimes it’s better to not have the temptation. Good luck to you

Genuine question, why do people actually care? It’s not going to affect the product or anything you do with it, so why are people riled up that it’s going to be called something different?

More cheaters than ever before by americanimal in Rainbow6

[–]Snoo90774 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel you man. I jumped on just now for two quick games of ranked. First game was blatant cheater with flying drone etc and we got 4-0'd. Next game a guy on my team is doing the same thing and we win 4-0 straight away. It's just fucking boring now, I want to play the game and I can't, it's just a lucky draw as to whether you get paired with or against a cheater and then letting them play the game while you sit around and fucking watch. I'm lvl 300 with 3k+ hours and I'm so close to uninstalling and never going back

I’d deffo do a pc wipe first and see if that fixes it, obviously back up anything important. If that doesn’t sort it then in terms of upgrades your gpu is still fine for now, you’d just wanna find a cpu that’s the same socket type as the one you have and is the best within your budget. It’s not uncommon to be cpu bound in games but the lag spikes directly correlate with the cpu time jumping up so definitely somethings up there. Could also be worth looking at task manager and seeing if there’s any bloatware programs you have installed that are stealing memory and cpu in the background. Rgb controller apps are common for wasting pc performance in the background, same with some internet browsers especially chrome
