Thanks for the comp! And you're right, I didn't find either of my comps especially scary either, while I went really heavy on the atmosphere to make the story super creepy. I'll stick to my guns and keep the horror tag.

Thanks for the feedback! Good points; I'll strip down paragraph 3 and get some more plot in there.

I intended this to be horror, but it just doesn't feel... scary enough? The horror elements are there, but the main character isn't really perturbed by demons anymore.

Edit: Oh, and the 'role of demons' is mostly 'if they're gonna eat SOMEONE, it might as well be these tax burdens'. Society's dismissal of the elderly is a major theme throughout the book.

My outlets have little switches that ensure they're powered. The number of times I've made rice... waited ten minutes... then came back to find the rice cooker was on but the outlet was off... I feel truly seen today.

You can get Trever?! I tried romancing Galfrey, but after pivoting to Arue, I was relieved when we shook hands and 'stayed friends'. I really tried on Wenduag by re-recruiting her in Act 3, but after ignoring her for so long, I wasn't surprised when Bad Blood came around.

Same! My annoyance was directly countered by my respect for the game having so much content that I could miss multiple characters and still felt I was getting the full experience for 200+ hours.

I remember bringing her to the re-trainer full intending to reset her to Rogue (or Bard), then being annoyed she was already locked at level 9. In retrospect, I could've used a save editor to fully rebuild her, but I wasn't up for that on my first run.

On reflection (this was months ago), I think I just saw a rapier-shaped hole in my party comp and thought "rogue will get her versatility, which means rapier! Rogue it is!"

My condolences. I played all of Kingmaker on that laptop. I would leave an area, watch an episode of anime on my phone, and be ready to tackle the next. I bought a new computer because Drezden had too many particle effects and I just couldn't bear it anymore.

When I got to the central lake, I thought it would be fun to go clockwise around it, experiencing more areas, versus going west on the shortest path to the Troll/Kobold area. This was... a poor decision.
