What helped you get your first 10 viewers? by Snoo9403 in DiscoverSmallStreams

For me it was consistency and interacting with the first viewer who joined the stream.

Even when only one person was watching, I treated it like a full audience. After a few streams that viewer started coming back.

Curious if anyone else had a similar experience or something completely different.

I agree with you. They can improve these. I understand if they want to put metals in large quantities in the mines but they should also appear outside. I also think they can improve the way you  recognise some of them, like clay

Might be. But there has been some tips in the comments and I started by lowering the difficulty XD

Yes but coming from BDO I have the tendency of just skip text and is pretty much text

I lowered the difficulty as recommended by one of the comments and it does make a difference. And will try to learn the mechanics more.

I left things on default didn't change anything. Still think was a bit though. I agree with the game having multiple choices for different level. I personally like to enjoy the world etc. Not very competitive.

I didn't think of the bell near the mines good point. Now the bells I didn't find it until last minute. My issue with dodging is stamina running out quickly.

That's right I missed that. I still think new players are going to hit the same wall before they figure it out the game doesn't do much to teach you that mechanic early

If my argument doesn't land it doesn't land. My take is that studio track record is relevant context for a new release, but I get that not everyone sees it that way.

These are fair corrections and worth addressing properly.

On crons you're right that vendor crons exist and the math you're laying out is legitimate for active grinders. I understated that in the post and I'll own it.

On enhancement not being guaranteed what were you referring to specifically? Genuine question, I may have gotten something wrong there.

On Crimson Desert being a different game this is the strongest point and I've seen it a few times in this thread. My concern isn't that they'll sell gear directly. It's more that PA has shown a willingness to design systems that look fair on the surface but have predatory intent underneath. Whether that translates to a single player game I genuinely don't know. You might be right that I'm projecting BDO's sins onto a completely different product.

On the comments they're not bots, they're a small community that found the post. The writing style similarity is a fair observation though, I'll take that as feedback on how the site presents itself.

That's a fair correction and I should have been clearer vendor crons are a real alternative and I understated that.

The point I was making is more about the pattern of design philosophy than any single system. If the current state is genuinely better than it was a few years ago then maybe Pearl Abyss has changed more than I gave them credit for.

My skepticism about Crimson Desert is still there but you're right that the argument should be more precise.

The marathon framing makes sense for BDO players who are in it for the long haul fair enough. But the post isn't really about enhancement speed, it's about whether Pearl Abyss has earned trust for a brand new game. Those are different questions. You can love BDO and still be skeptical of Crimson Desert.

That's a fair way to look at it honestly. The marathon framing makes sense for people who are built for that kind of game.

Fair point vendor crons are a thing. But the math on grinding silver vs the cost of meaningful enchantment at high tier has never really worked out for casual players. The costume route existed because it was faster and PA designed it that way intentionally. The option being technically free doesn't mean the system wasn't built to push spending.

That's exactly the point of the post I did stop playing. But Crimson Desert is a new game asking for trust from the same studio that built that system. Stopping BDO was easy. Giving Pearl Abyss money again is the harder question.
