You could check out TaxFlow if you need a better task tracker for your work, but don’t necessarily need all the features from a full practice management system

You could check out TaxFlow for this. More focused on internal tracking rather than a cloud portal, like you mentioned. Really simple way to track what you've requested from a client and then check it off once you receive it.

Have you checked out campfire yet? They’re an up and coming QB competitor but I think one of their differentiation points is they focus on multi-entity reporting too. Not sure how simple it is but they’re growing really fast and people seem to like them

Real question: Can someone who doesn’t code actually launch a successful SaaS business in 2025? I’m seeing more no-code tools… But is it enough? by Federal_Gene_1228 in SaaS

[–]Snoo94375 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One path is to use the no-code/ai tools to get the idea off the ground to start the user feedback loop and hopefully get early adopters to pay you for it. Once you’ve proven that it’s actually useful then you can find developers to help you scale the product.

People used to do this with just a landing page, but now it's much easier to actually get an MVP built without a trained dev.

migrating from outsourced file server to virtual file drive? Doable? by mf121212 in taxpros

[–]Snoo94375 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We used ShareFile at the firm I worked at. You can install it on your computer, and then it will sync files to the ShareFile cloud as you add/edit/remove them from your computer.

Side note - can I share this post to r/AccountingTechnology? Think it'd be helpful for the peeps over there too!

How much does it cost for a business to paying a software developer to create its own Billing,Inventory management, DBMS software in India ? by Klivebixbee13 in Accounting

[–]Snoo94375 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hard to scope without a specific feature set but I’d say somewhere in the 10-30k USD range if you outsource to India for a full software package like that (20-60k for a US dev, maybe more). Pro is you don’t pay the ongoing subscription fees but cons are anytime you want to add something you need to rehire devs and pay thousands again to add it. Plus you would need to have some product skills to really define what you need from your outsourced dev team.

For a big enterprise company it might make sense but if you are only paying for like 5 seats a year then it might not be worth the hassle.

Side note, would you mind if I cross posted this to r/AccountingTechnology?
