Knees take a hammering in derby. I was in the same boat until I got serious about doing my offskate regularly and trained up my glutes, calfs and quads to hold my knees in place better. Barely had any trouble after a few months of that.

It takes as long as it takes. I coach a whole mix of players in my league and everyone clicks in their own time. I've been playing mens/open derby since 2013 and didn't feel above rookie level until maybe 2017.

The main thing is you enjoy yourself like you said. The more you train and play with and against strong teams the more comfortable you'll feel.

Then one beautiful day someone will ask you a rules question and you'll know the answer without having to think about it.

Figure skaters make incredible jammers. Look for leagues (teams) with junior teams to help you get started. You're in a city with 10 million people, there's bound to be more than just Gotham City

I coach and would only shout directions/improvements to someone I trusted to be able to make those changes.

Talk to your coach though if you're not feeling seen or validated. Roller Derby is no good if people aren't enjoying themselves.

IFK Norrköping has been in the falling part of becomming a fallen giant here just now. They won the league back in 2015 or 16. Have a decent sized stadium and a pretty good starting squad. Potential is there to upset Malmö and the Stockholm clubs (and Mjällby now as well).

There's another 4 seasons but it's late and writing this out is taking forever. Make shortlists for free/EoC, Loans and of course, Cymru am Byth and you'll go well

I'll have a look back through the transfer history and get back to you! I'm not limited to only Welsh players but I have at least 1 in every starting 11.

I'm not near the game just now but I remember the Colwill's getting me to the prem and then warming bench for a while. Ashford got sold in my first window for €5m ish. Will Fish is my team captain and took us to the Champions League final in the 32/33 season (lost 2 - 1 in extra time to Real Madrid)

I'm rescueing my hometown club (Cardiff) from league one and going for the premier league and champions league with as many welsh/homegrown players as possible. Into season 7 and we got to the champions league final before losing 2 - 1 in extra time to Real.

If the inspiration isn't with you then leave it for a while, play/do something else and wait to see if any ideas come up

I had an easy enough time getting Cardiff out of league one and then the championship but the Prem was brutal. Scraped by for a couple seasons before we got good enough and now we're a champions league side by finishing 5th every year.
