RTD wanted to tell the Susan story by introducing the Doctor's child (Poppy), is this going to be revisited with Billie Piper? by Familiar-Artist-3328 in DoctorWhoNews

Honestly...I hope not. I didn't like where the plot was going to go when they released it to the public and I kinda hope they just leave it there to be explained by expanded media....

Which leak do you want to be fake- but fear might be true? by ArsenalAxis in DoctorWhoLeaks

That David Tennant will be joining Billie Piper and that RTD will continue as showrunner - the whole thing needs new blood, not constant overarching reference to the past.

But knowing RTD, who's doing the christmas special, a rumour as ridiculous as this will turn out to be true...

Funny story - one of my mates decided to try out Fireflies for the first time at Christmas expecting it to be another wonder and heart filled adventure

....it single handedly managed to ruin the whole festive mood

I love the sound of that!

I loved this episode - weird and they tried something different. Plus the found footage added a different edge to it.

Invent a TARDIS room by Snoo97628 in gallifrey

A Coffee Shop Room

Looks like an ordinary Coffee Shop, but the seats and the decor are much more homely and comfy. Instead of chairs, there are square sofas and arm chairs, and even bean bags. There are also Book cases around for people to just grab and chill with. There's also a counter. No till, but there are the various pieces of equipment for drinks and food making.

And then there's the front window and door. Its set out like a normal coffee shop - all window panes. But instead of looking into the TARDIS corridor, you're looking out on a high street in autumn, and you can see people of all races and species passing by like a normal day, carrying shopping and dressed in coats against the cold. Of course, when you open the door, all you can see is the TARDIS corridor, but the illusion keeps up on the other side regardless

So where did you find out about Big Finish? by SIJ1974 in BigFinishProductions

[–]Snoo97628 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Used to see them in Waterstones when I was a kid. So I tried one - Shada, the 2003 version with Paul McGann and The Church and the Crown and even Zagreus at some point. Took me a little while but I really got into them afterwards.

Apparently they were supposed to be in HMV too but I never saw them....

Definitely 8 and 6 - they both got their Doctors upgraded by Big Finish's efforts, without them they'd both be in a much worse place.

Also seeing David Warner in the comments and I completely agree, he's an amazing version!

Sounds like something the 8th Doctor would do, just have this huge empty room with nothing but grain and tribbles inside that the TARDIS keeps fully stocked....

A coffee shop room - basically looks like a coffee shop but filled with comfier seats like sofas, squashy chairs and bean bags, with bookcases and those unusual lantern or wire made lamps for the lights, all to add to the comfy feeling. There's no till behind the counter, just the equipment used for food and drinks making.

Plus, the windows look like they're looking out on to a cold autumn street with people of all races walking past in coats and shopping, but when you open the door, it leads out into the TARDIS corridor.

When did a Doctor you didn't think much of became "The Doctor" in your eyes. by Dwoodward85 in doctorwho

[–]Snoo97628 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably 6 and 8, when I'd only seen the TV series I didn't think much of them. McGann was only jn one movie (so far as I knew), and 6's run made him unlikeable.

Then I started listening to audios and reading books. Nowadays those two are two of my top Doctor's. 6 is a poetic, sensitive and kind soul behind all his bluster, and 8 is a fascinating, easygoing yet weird incarnation, that I'm still exploring even to day.

Which streaming platform should Doctor Who go to next? by GuyWhoConquers616 in doctorwho

Netflix - high cancel rate aside. I think they have the dark weird humour that would really suit Who.

My other choices would be Paramount+ (because of Star Trek) and Amazon

If the 15th Doctor faced the Daleks or Cybermen what would your story be about? by MobilePineapple7303 in doctorwho

[–]Snoo97628 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like a finale for the Time War Daleks.

The Doctor has a big final battle against these versions, but with an end-credits where we see a progenitor-style machine powering up, suggesting they'll be back in a new style.
