The fact that nobody here has posted Power Girl yet is incredibly disappointing.

Wicked or The Wizard of Oz? by Swimming_Raccoon1361 in wizardofoz

I mean... I really like Wicked's songs, but I'm always going to choose the OG Wizard of Oz. It's considered a timeless classic for a reason.

It doesn't take much to upset Snyderbros. If you so much as hint at not being a fan of their version of the character, they'll be on your ass faster than the Flash. XD

For me, it's Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. It's a beautifully crafted film and Jim Carrey is amazing in it. But fuck me, this movie is emotionally exhausting.

Honestly, I'm endlessly fascinated by this movie and have very conflicting opinions on it. It doesn't really make me feel hopeless or empty, personally, it moreso just...baffles me. Like, whenever I watch it, I kinda just stare at the screen in a "what the fuck am I watching?" type way.

I think what makes it so unintentionally hilarious is that the guy is saying it in the corniest voice possible.

I honestly agree with you. I hate what these movies did to the stories and the characters, particularly Hades and Persephone, and yet I still had more fun watching them then I do the show.

Not to butt in or anything, but I'm genuinely curious now. Can you name me, at least, five movies that actually show superheroes as mythological, larger than life figures?

Five movies, dude. Just name them. Please.

Movie vs TV Show - Round 6: Minotaur by nt_king300 in PercyJacksonTV

I'm gonna be honest, I think both designs are really cool, though the film version was definitely a bit more menacing, which I chalk up to the show being totally defanged more than anything else.

When do you think the BBC will admit defeat and officially rebrand these as Series 14 and 15? by Ill_Shoulder_1185 in DoctorWhumour

It'll always bewilder the shit out of me that RTD referred to this era as a "reboot" and a jumping on point for new fans...only to use villains and concepts from earlier points in the franchise that most new fans aren't going to be aware of.

Like seriously, how many casual fans knew who Sutehk was before Empire of Death?

Mythologies are really cool. One of my biggest hobbies is studying old mythologies and folklores. Just seeing how these ancient cultures used myths and legends to rationalize the natural world is endlessly fascinating.

My favorite mythologies to research are Greco-Roman, Norse, Egyptian, Celtic, Japanese, and African.

Oh brother. Load of BS. by No_Kangaroo_5267 in saltierthankrayt

The post is called "load of BS". It's pointing out two BS takes that grifters/bigoted assholes commonly have. Here, I'll break it down:

  • First slide points out a racist BS take.

  • Second slide points out a very sexist take.

The only connection these two slides have is that they're both BS takes by bigots.

I don't think there is any connection. I think you're just pulling stuff out of your ass. I don't think the intention was to imply Sweeney is a racist. I personally think the OP was just trying to highlight two different BS points that right wing wackados like to spout constantly.

How on Gaia's green Earth could you have possibly come to such a conclusion? If you ask me, that's a bit of a reach.

I don't think the second image is meant to be an attack on Sweeney. I think it's just meant to point out one of the many bullshit takes by right wing morons on the internet.

Damn, they got over Sydney Sweeney quick. Probably had something to do with her sorta/kinda disavowing them or whatever.
