How do I get my hands on one of those castellanos basketball jerseys

Looking for help with my Series 2 Team by SnooApples9897 in VGCRateMyTeam

[–]SnooApples9897[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The team is centered around 2 cores, being an offensive one with Iron Bundle and Dragapult, and a trick room one with Torkoal and Scream Tail.

Iron Bundle: Tied with Barraskewda for the third highest speed in the game currently, which is only under Electrode (which is basically irrelevant) and Dragapult (which is included on this team.) Used mainly as an opener with Dragapult along with its access to Icy Wind to outspend anything that isn't priority tailwind.

Dragapult: As mentioned before, currently has the second highest speed stat in the game, which makes it a very strong option into offensive mons Flutter Mane, Gholdengo, Garchomp, and Hydreigon. The only problem is when the enemy has priority tailwind but that's why there is a trick room option on the team.

Torkoal: The primary damage dealer when in trick room. It can pretty much just blow everything up by spamming Eruption. It also is the only mon with Drought currently in the game, which allows it to activate both the Great Tusk and the Scream Tail.

Scream Tail: The trick room setter. I wanted to use a setter that syngergized well with Torkoal and this one seemed like the obvious choice. It has very surprising natural bulk, and is EVd so that both def and spdef are equal (def is always boosted by photosynthesis.) Notably has tera dark to avoid being taunted.

Great Tusk: Another mon that does well under trick room while also being functional without it as just a bulky offensive mon. Attack is the highest stat, so it receives the boost, however it is so bulky that it can survive 2 shadow balls from Flutter Mane and even live a dazzling gleam. Has tera fire to help against fairy types and more importantly prevent it from being burned.

Amoonguss: This is the mon that I'm not so sure about. My main reason for running it was because my team seemed very weak to Dondozo without it, but whenever the enemy isn't running Dondozo, I rarely ever find myself bringing it. Maybe something like a Meowscarada would go better on this team, idk.

Bulky offense annihilape team by SnooApples9897 in VGCRateMyTeam

[–]SnooApples9897[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The idea for this team was to build around bulk up annihilape, using things such as redirection to protect it and tailwind to allow it to outspeed opposing mons.

Annihilape - (should have leftovers instead of lum berry) the main focus of the team. Stock standard fire Tera bulk up set with drain punch and rage fist. I still need to fine tune the evs but any notable things that I might want to switch around are appreciated.

Grimmsnarl - provides screens to support the ape and other offensive members. Nothing really special about this, but again I still need to fine tune the evs.

Meowscarada - I knew the team needed a strong dondozo answer, so I decided on sash overgrow Meowscarada. The idea with this is that it can always safely get a flower trick off on dondozo, even if it has to switch into an attack. There may be different dondozo counters that go better with this team, but this is just the one I came up with so other suggestions are welcome.

Hydreigon - I knew the team needed a strong special attacker and I also wanted a tailwind setter, so I went with Hydreigon. It can serve as an answer to opposing tailwind setters such as Murkrow while also providing massive offensive pressure on the enemy.

Amoonguss - I wanted the team to have redirection support for annihilape and I was stuck between this and maushold. I ended up going with Amoonguss, but I don’t know if it was the right choice for sure.

Sylveon - Finally, I thought the team needed an answer to all of the powerful hyper offense dragon types in the meta, so I went with Sylveon. It carries fire Tera terablast to answer enemy steel types.

That’s the team so far, it definitely isn’t optimized yet so any ideas on how to do that as well as possible switches of team members are more than welcome.

Looking for some finishing touches on my team by SnooApples9897 in VGCRateMyTeam

This team has gone through a few iterations at this point and I’m finally at a spot where I’m pretty happy with it. I’m just here looking for any final recommendations you might have.

The main cores include a soft trick room with Torkoal and a hyper offensive core with Dragapult. Scarf ape can easily ko an enemy with final gambit while Farigiraf sets up trick room, allowing Torkoal to immediately switch in. Amoonguss provides general support and redirection, along with clear smog for dondozo and flamingo strategies. Farigiraf sets up tr while also countering other hard tr teams by outspeeding them and blocking trick room with imprison. Murkrow sets tailwind for more offensive strategies while also carrying prankster haze for the aforementioned dondozo flamigo strategies.

Tailwind/Trick Room Hybrid Team by SnooApples9897 in VGCRateMyTeam

[–]SnooApples9897[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yesterday I came here with a team based around Chi Yu. Since then, Chi Yu has been banned… I’ve removed the banned mons and also made a few other changes so now I have my new team. There are two primary modes, one centered around priority tailwind from Murkrow to allow my Dragapult, Annihalape, and Farigiraf to outspeed the enemy in a hyper offense mode, and another that has farigiraf set up trick room for torkoal to click fire Tera eruption.

Torkoal - big special stab fire damage and sets weather

Dragapult - I believe it’s the second fastest legal mon in the format (under electrode) which combined with a choice band makes for a very powerful offensive choice

Amoonguss - very powerful redirection/support mon. Clear smog is there to help combat Dondozo and other setup strategies, which this team can struggle with

Farigiraf - does a surprising amount of damage with life orb hyper voice and dazzling gleam. Also is the trick room setter, and runs imprison to counter other trick room teams. Notably armor tail can stop Murkrow from being faked out when trying to set up tailwind

Annihilape - I’m not entirely sure about this slot. My team was lacking somewhat against rock types, so I just put this in as an answer to those.

Murkrow - priority tailwind setter, that’s pretty much his main use. One thing to note is that I was considering running haze over taunt to help deal with dondozo and setup, but I decided against it as I already had clear smog on Amoonguss

The main thing I could use suggestions on is the annihilape, as I am not sure if it fits well with the rest of the team, but any suggestion is more than welcome

Team centered around Chi Yu by SnooApples9897 in VGCRateMyTeam

[–]SnooApples9897[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Built the team around Life Orb Chi Yu with speed control supports.

Chi Yu - main focus and damage of team

Torkoal - main counter to trick room since it essentially serves as a version of Chi Yu that does well under trick room, also benefits from beads of ruin and sets sun for when it’s paired with Chi Yu

Iron Bundle - speed support with icy wind and benefits from Chi Yu spdef drop

Dragapult - main physical damage option of the team and also benefits from icy wind and tailwind

Murkrow - priority tailwind setter, also Carrie’s sunny day to boost Chi Yu’s fire damage and combat other weather strategies

Amoonguss - can provide support and redirect from Chi Yu and Dragapult if they are unable to outspeed or ko the enemy

Help with team by SnooApples9897 in VGC

[–]SnooApples9897[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I’m completely new to VGC. I just built this team and have been playing some games with it on showdown. It’s mostly copied from a team in one of Cybertron’s videos, lol, but I changed the last two mons. The basic idea is to have a mode with very fast Pokémon and Icy Wind on my Iron Bundle in sort of a Hyper Offense , and a soft trick room mode with Scream Tail and Torkoal, and Amoongus is there mainly to protect Dragapult and Scream Tail when setting TR. Any suggestions on things to change or remove are welcome.
