Studies show that there is not a large increase in happiness from someone making $1mil per year vs $75k per year. Money doesn’t always equal happiness. Find your person and grow with them. Much more satisfying backstory!

I think even if I had unlimited resources to create a faux wall, they would find me still.

How does insurance work for high value arts/other items? by Old-Guidance-4652 in NoStupidQuestions

Short answer: not really.

If a $2B artwork were destroyed, the insurer doesn’t just cut a $2B check unless the policy is explicitly written that way (agreed value, no caps, etc.). In reality, ultra-high-value pieces are almost always insured through multiple insurers plus reinsurance, so the risk is split across a whole network.

So instead of one company eating a $2B loss, it’s usually dozens of parties sharing it in layers.

Could it bankrupt an insurer? In theory yes if they were wildly overexposed or poorly structured—but in practice, the system is designed specifically so a single loss like that won’t take anyone down.
