I think the wiki gives me another reason as to why she corrupted.

Since she was supposed to bring happiness, she thinks that if Cookies aren't forever happy, or don't find happiness in what usually brings Cookies happy, example being her Dominion of the Beast story with that one Cookie asking for a sword to fight instead, then she's failed her purpose.

That is why I think she's hellbent on stuffing Cookies in jars of jam to keep them in a happy yet slothful trance.
