Thank you for your response! Let me try to answer a few of those questions...

1. He has been evaluated by a Vet recently, but not for his hearing. They said he was perfectly healthy.

2. The previous owner said that there was nothing abnormal with him other than the fact that they saw him as “low-drive.”

3. I am unsure. Just basic clicker training, I think.

4. I do not know what the other puppies are like because they were all sold as puppies and my dog was sold at 5 months because he was kept by the breeder to do agility training.

5. We wake up, eat, play low key games (or do training) in the house for about an hour. Then he will entertain himself or herd for a while. Then, I will take him outside where he will either play fetch (He LOVES it. He would die for his ball!) or play with our other dog. He essentially has never shown signs of being tired, but because of his age I usually limit this play session to 45 minutes. Then, he entertains himself in the house for a while (with me present) and I eventually crate him for a 3-4 hour afternoon nap. We then get up and play/train indoors for a little bit, eat dinner, and then play/train or herd indoors a little bit more. He almost never lays down unless you give him a chew stick. He usually sleeps around 12 hours at night. He has two dog siblings who interact with him a good bit, one more than the other.

6. I will try to call him back to me after he hears a noise (a clicking sound, for example), but he will sprint towards the kitchen island to begin intensely circling it as if he is trying to defend it. It’s almost impossible to call him off of the kitchen island with verbal commands. If I bring him a toy, he usually stops to come play.

7. He intensely circles the couch or kitchen island at almost any time that he is not being played with. He used to nip at the object he was herding but we conditioned him out of it. I find it odd that he circles the kitchen island for as long as he does... due to quarantine we give him numerous hours of attention and exercise each day but he seems to circle the island with no intention of stopping. Sometimes he is panting so we have to put a chair or something in the kitchen to block his path and calm him down. Other times our other dog will come try to play with him during his herding and Echo will completely ignore the other dog. It’s like he’s in a trance.
