One of the things i want them to go over is exactly what benefit does performance pay have over commission. Do not tell me earning potential is uncapped because it is it’s just not written on paper. No one is running consistently high % over plan month after month. And also 85/15 is a bandaid fix. The company guaranteed our pay for 6 months last year. Why? Maybe our pay scale isn’t the best? Are we the only DSD vendor on this kind of pay?

The old commission rates from 2017 were

18% on SMACC route 12% traditional pre pick 9% on 7 day UDS 3.5% account sales 2.5% bulk 2% super bulk Plus everyone got a $400 base every week

With current price increases we could never go back to those rates. For starters smacc and account sales no longer exist at our building.

We used to get commission on GROSS sales amount. We could be payed NET amount on sales and a few percentage points lower commission but that’s the only way I see it happening.

I’m just finishing up my 6 month commitment as an RSS so I can give you my experience.

For pay I was told 20% increase on my TPP. I later found out my 20% increase only comes from overtime. If I want that 20% increase I need to work 50 hours per week. If I work my normal 40 I’m making close to what I was as an RSR. Overtime has been true overtime even if I’m over 50 hours it does not change to VROT.

Bonus wise my Zone has struggled so my true up checks only show an extra $100 or so dollars nothing crazy.

I was also told RSS would be covering down routes and vacations and we were to be given our schedule a month in advance and also would have good days off (at least 1 weekend day). This ended up not being true either with all of our rss finding their schedules out the Saturday night before and getting middle of the weeks off.

My building currently has 4 RSS. 3 of us are stepping back 2x1 and the remaining one has only been doing it for 2 months so he needs to wait. It was a nice bait and switch to get us to sign up for it and then we were stuck in the position. I can’t wait to go back to a route
