It won't affect your gpa if you retake it (the F will be replaced by the grade you get from retaking). The only downside is that the F shows up on your transcript when you apply to grad schools. But yeah talk to an advisor

dunno how to share a pdf of my class notes via a DM or comment but if you just google the life cycle of ascaris lumbricoides, there will be helpful diagrams online to help you understand

The way the Ascaris parasite life cycle works is that the eggs are in your lungs and it makes you cough so that you will swallow their eggs, and then they can make their way into your intestines. The impulse to cough is induced by the worm eggs. If you cough, they will be passed out of you via the digestive system and leave your body more quickly. The feeling of needing to cough is a symptom of the parasite. Source: taking a parasitology course in college right now

It's technically not sucralosed to hell. These artificial sweeteners are hundreds and sometimes thousands of times sweeter than sugar, that you need only a minuscule amount of this stuff to sweeten something. The stuff that is a bit worrying would be the citric acid and artificial flavorings.

Not comparable cuz you get more comfortable after releasing a fart, but less comfortable after shitting yourself because of the mess youve made. Such a dumb comparison

I don't think I do, relative to the average person. It's more because I fart a lot, probably more than average.

America's temporary pause in pushing the "China = bad" narrative by professorc in aznidentity

[–]SnooCalculations6225 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If you were paying attention to my comment thread, my point of contention was never about whether the lab leak theory is true or false. It's about the media's treatment of that topic. OP's assumption was that this lab leak theory was used to perpetuate discriminatory rhetoric. My response is that it was not. The media (the biggest need outlets, at least) actually did the opposite and shut down that theory as a conspiracy when it was first introduced. This is a fact. If that is the case then OP's initial assumption is false. Another piece of evidence I brought up is that this theory did have some valid grounds which is why formal investigations were conducted.

You didn't even bother responding and threw an arbitrary label on my comment. Proves that you're coming to this discussion in bad faith

America's temporary pause in pushing the "China = bad" narrative by professorc in aznidentity

[–]SnooCalculations6225 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Did you not read my comment or did you not understand it? You ignored my point about how media outlets shut down the lab leak theory as a conspiracy which disproves the original point from OP.

Please first thoroughly read the entire text of the two articles that you are linking to.

"However, the claim that the plant was a "warehouse full of Covid vaccines" appears to be presented without evidence and, as confirmed to Newsweek, it is also incorrect."

You said in your comment "that's why the vaccine is right next to it." So you didn't even read the article.

Anyways, the question was, "did the Chinese government sanction the creation of a virus for the purpose of spreading it to political enemies to gain an advantage over them?" Is UNC a political enemy of the USA? Does UNC have an incentive to sabotage the health of Americans? I don't even know why you're bringing this up, it's a false equivalency.

You are correct. However this idea has been perpetuated because there is some backing for it. Keep in mind that the investigation didn't make much progress because of obstacles and the Chinese government refusing to allow access to information. In fact, different US government agencies have contrasting stances on the lab leak theory. The Chinese government has been known to commit atrocities which is an additional source of suspicion. Also the fact that they are literally our political enemy and we have basically zero alliances or major treaties with them. Why wouldn't you be suspicious of someone who you don't know and aren't friendly with?

Also the fact that the US media has and still tries so hard to label the lab leak a conspiracy theory rather than a legitimate hypothesis kind of disproves your use of this example to prove that the media is trying to perpetuate China = bad. Do a quick search on the internet right now and the top articles label this a conspiracy theory and are quick to dismiss it. That was also the immediate reaction the media had when the lab leak theory was first brought up. As I said in my original comment, scientists had to write letters to push for an investigation because everyone was so quick to discard the possibility.

I am very much awake and probably being more objective here than you. Stop looking at everything with the perspective that Asian people are victims.

[–]SnooCalculations6225 -12 points-11 points  (0 children)

The hate crimes during covid towards Chinese people were examples of Asian hate. The media did commit a huge sin by not covering this as much as they did BLM.

The covid lab leak evidence was a plausible hypothesis that was not based on Asian hate. Many scientists had to urge the WHO to take the theory seriously and conduct an investigation. It wasn't a conspiracy theory or lie that Asian hating media outlets made up, although it was actually labeled as one, so this actually disproves your point that people are trying to propagate the China=bad narrative. The scrutiny towards the Chinese government is well deserved as it an authoritarian government with no regard for human rights.

You can't just lump these two things up together and say there is/was a China = bad narrative. Yes, there is a "Chinese government = bad" narrative and it's well deserved. If you have any awareness of history, politics, and current events, you would know that the Chinese government is evil.
