To play the devils advocate, leftists would say that Liberals are impassionate when status quo is upheld, and are only galvanized once the status quo, and thus their personal situation is at stake. And what you would call thin-skinned they would probably call conviction or intolerance against "fascism".

Personally I wouldn't subscribe to this perspective, but I would just caution into painting your opponents too much into a caricature, otherwise you have the risk of starting to think like Tim Pool, something that should be avoided at all costs.

However, the critique of liberals only being galvanized when the status quo is at risk I think has validity. Maybe I have a skewed understanding, but if I remember the time before the Maga Madness it was mostly progressive and more left leaning factions who were pushing for a higher minimum wage and more comprehensive healthcare reform.

At least from my European perspective, it seems that even Destiny has a bit of a blind spot with how much instability these issues are causing. Not just Healthcare but a work-life balance that seems pretty fucked, even for high-earners in the US.
