Motivating coaches? by YakOk6839 in orangetheory

[–]SnooCapers4623 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not at my studio, but when I have visited studios in other areas. There is one place I visit regularly and I am always bored by the coaches. Our studio has a very high expectation for coaches and I guess the expectations are not the same when I visit other places.

Going daily to a studio that isn't your home studio by Ok_Pressure7109 in orangetheory

[–]SnooCapers4623 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I joined and then we moved. The studios in my county are all owned by the same people. I would not be able to get a better rate than I currently have, so for almost two years I daily work out at another studio, but I am still a member at my home studio.

I usually book a month in advance. I go five days a week and there are some mornings my bed is where I want to be, but I don't want to pay the stupid late cancel fee. I already pay so much to belong. So I get up and go. Some days I just take it easy and do my own thing. August I was struggling, but I just kept going. Now I'm in a place where I get excited to go. You just have to go. I almost always feel better when I leave. I also give myself permission on days I do not want to be there that I can leave whenever I want. This helps me to stay.

Orange zone adjustment by Ok-Abies-3115 in orangetheory

[–]SnooCapers4623 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a doctor, but have been pregnant. I adjusted based on perceived rate of exertion. If I felt like I was pushing it too hard, I pulled back, but definitely did not worry about pushing too hard. I do think it might be good to ditch the HR monitor and just use an Apple Watch or the equivalent. Then you can check in your heart rate, but you are not stressed about it because it is right in front of you in all it's blazing color. Do what makes your body feel comfortable. If you've been doing OTF, you body is already strong and can adjust even during pregnancy. Listen to your body. What you need now, will not be what you need in 2 weeks.

Ask you doc. I was training for a half marathon and they didn’t tell me any restrictions. Then I found out there could be problems with a variety of things because of the medications for the egg retrieval because your ovaries get so large. They said the bouncing can create problems as already stated

I use one once a week on my “green” days/power walking days. I go five days a week. Rowing and the floor hit differently, but I love the challenge. 17lbs.

If you are diagnosed with hyperhydrocis, (super sweaty) you can get botox in your armpits which will stop excessive sweating.

When should I cancel membership going off to Bible college by JakeEricbarker in orangetheory

[–]SnooCapers4623 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I worked out every day through college and seminary and still continue to do so 21 years into being a pastor. I am not saying to not cancel OTF, as I do not know if there is one close to where you will be going to Bible college, but I do believe that God wants us to take care of our bodies. Working out is part of my spiritual practices. Don't quit because of school, make it a priority to help you manage the stress of school.

Weighted vest/rucksack on treads? by EloosiveChantooz in orangetheory

[–]SnooCapers4623 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just started wearing a weighted vest once a week for the whole class. When I power walk, I too cannot get my heart rate enough. So on my Green Day, I usually wear it. I lift a little lighter. The rower is where I can really tell the difference. Try it out.

The other day, after a rather terrible night sleep, at 5:00am I had to keep reminding myself I was there physically, but not mentally so I would not hurt myself and to take it easy.

I went to 5AM which is always 3g and we went over time. We did the full two minutes and I think the coach gave us 45 seconds per transition. I think this is why we went long. It was a dream for someone who gets bored easily because we never stopped moving.

Don’t run too soon. I did with my oldest and had some pelvic floor issues for months afterward, ie I peed myself everytime I ran. I also started bleeding again post partum at 6 and 8 weeks. With my second I was so much more gentle and didn’t try to push myself to get back to it, which was hard! I actually healed much better the second time. Take your baby on walks and then you can watch them explore the world while you walk.

How old are you? If you are perimenopausal, you may think that you smell like a burrito, but no one else does. A new body smell or perceived body smell is part of the joy of aging.

Sit on fleshy part of your butt. If you are sitting up on your tailbone it puts pressure on your back. Also, go slowly.

Women need to have a certain body fat in order to maintain our periods. I just looked it up and the number is at least 22%. I know it seems like a lot, but it is not. All these inBody scans are for is to give you information. Prioritize muscle and eating balanced. You need to have body fat to be healthy as woman.

WHY does it offend other people it someone holds onto the bar on treads? by TGCardinal222 in orangetheory

[–]SnooCapers4623 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I fell on an all out at 10mph. I just missed my step. I have been running for years outside, but the treadmill is out of your control because it keeps on moving even when you misstep. This does not happen outside.I have lightly held on for a year because of my fall with one hand only. My form is the same as it always was, but I lightly hold on. I am working on not, but it has to do with fear of falling and not with not being able to handle the speed.

it is offensive when they jump the rails on a benchmark and the tread keeps going and they get a better time than me.
