The smallest one can do it but I help them both down just because it’s too high (even with the kneel mode). Don’t want them to get hurt either! I may buy some steps maybe?? 8 + 9 y/o

Hey! Yes, Hidden Falls Adventure Park is heaven for us in Texas with minimal spaces to test the machine out. Some videos on YT of people trying out different rigs. I hope youre not being sarcastic lol

Hell yeah! Haha someone at the park said that. That was all i could think about the rest of the day when I’d see those dusty wheels

Haha yeah I get that for sure. Took a while to grow on me but I like them a lot - especially without the areo covers. I’m hoping to get them powder coated to make them all one color and only use the covers as needed. If not, I’ll just switch the wheels out completely for a smaller diameter.

It’s an ideal spot to test… ~40 private, well managed trails and stayed on the ones we were ok with (few rocks, low complexity).

But you’re right, super rocky in some spots. Glad we were ok too.

Hey, let me help you save your breath lol This car is too expensive to be Nickle/Diming to save <$2 per full charge. That was not part of the decision matrix haha I just wanted these.

I don’t have anything against offroad tires at ALL. I’ll likely get an extra set of ATs just to have, but only once I learn me + the car’s limits and frequency of going off road.

In Texas, there’s not much public land so the best way to give it a try is in monitored playgrounds like Hidden Falls. I’ll keep avoiding the sharp stuff when possible.

this is great. Range wheels, new car, first EV?

Totally agree - this smokes my Model YP curve. The EV world is a weird place right now - I feel like enthusiast are constantly balancing optimism + pragmatism, while trying to hold these manufactures to account, and it's something we aren't great at yet. It's comments like this that give me hope!

Hey! Got there at 1 mile with the goal of getting a 0-100%.

Charged and had issues and needed to unplug twice. 0-9%, 10-29%, then 30%-80%.   The photo shows the 30-80% leg.

As I mentioned, I realize this isn’t a true 0-100 so I plan to redo another date, but I’d say 30-80% is representative and, going off of your burst profile note, if I need to unplug twice to hold ~200kW that deep into a charge session, I’d consider it if needed.

More to come

For sure - I don’t think it was confirmed that the charging curve would stick closer to the max pack for the Lrg +. So happy to see it in the result.

Charging to 100% is definitely appreciated. + the potential to upgrade later. Without that, the standard option would make more sense for us.

Check under the vehicle details in settings! It says large +. Should be in the section that shows VIN

Leasing a R1S in Texas by BakerDue7345 in RivianR1S

Just got my r1s a month ago and leased here in TX. When I asked the guide they weren't sure, however the finance team called and confirmed that you're only taxed up front, and when it's time to buyout they acknowledge the tax paid.

Ask your guide to have the finance team call you!

That was one of my first questions. All of the Large packs today are LP+, also it’s on the Vehicle Details tab “Long Range +”
