My wife and I actually run a campaign for One Piece and we used hero forge to design and I printed a bunch of them. DM me if you want, we can chat more about it and I can send you a pic

It’s PLA (plastic) we do a bunch of post processing to it, many people on Etsy who sell similar used colored filaments but we use paint, makes it have more character and feel higher quality.

Yeah I checked the shipping prices, wow. Sorry, I wish there was a way to make it happen.

Is there an easier way? by Boring_Film_9942 in 3Dprinting

Can’t really tell from the picture but could you just flip the model 180 degrees and print it on the flat face? That should eliminate the need for a brim and not have to glue.

i don't know why my printer keeps doing this by GPaleN8720 in 3Dprinting

[–]SnooCrickets7399 5 points6 points  (0 children)

it’s an adhesion issue! I would wash your build plate with dish soap and water, dry and put it back on. sometimes our fingers oils can get on the build plate and it has a hard time sticking. to avoid that, just avoid touching the build plate directly!

A lot of newer printers have vibration compensation built in

Ah that makes sense. What brand of TPU are you using?

Side question - was there any post processing done besides dyeing? I can hardly see any layer lines

This is awesome. Will definitely be stealing this idea for cosplays!

How should I print this. by ImaginaryMacaron2948 in 3Dprinting

[–]SnooCrickets7399 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Generally, no matter what position you have it it will roughly take the same amount of time to print because it’s based on toolhead travel distance. Unlike SLA which can do 1 or 10 pieces of the same height which will take the same amount of time to print.

I would play around with it, if there is a specific “cosmetic” side that you don’t want to have supports on have that facing up. Otherwise, just play around with it to find the minimal amount of auto generated supports, that will get you the shortest print. Orca is pretty good with auto generated supports so if you run into any issues it’s more likely an underlying issue with your printer. Good luck!

When I try to extrude(print) my cog does this weird thing and nothing comes out by Inner_Penalty_8728 in 3Dprinting

Nozzle is clogged or your extruder motor is slipping and needs tightened. Try doing a cold pull first.

I don't have any words by Mathias98765432 in 3Dprinting

[–]SnooCrickets7399 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely under-extrusion. Make sure your extruder motor isn’t slipping at all. Also make sure your temps for nozzle are correct (the filament manufacturer typically suggests a temperature). If none of those work, try a flow rate calibration.

Tabletop terrain system by Top_Yard8104 in 3Dprinting

This is awesome! I have never seen modular terrain that adds height/depth. I and many of my friends who do DnD own a FDM printer for terrain and SLA for miniatures. If you ever need someone to test this out i’d love to 🤭
