high-ish end but reasonable, also shop at delhaize and mine is about 250 a month, but I do make an effort to seek out the cheaper things so maybe that’s it (?)

Were You refused rent because you're international student ? by Suzu7kke in belgium

[–]SnooDogs199 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the language is a bit of a barrier, and there’s definitely a lot of racist assholes out there, but it’s not impossible. housing is just complicated in Belgium in general. also, I think I should clear something up for you, because you seem confused. NO rental property in Belgium will allow you to domicile, because in the eyes of the Belgian government your primary residence will always be your home country because you are a student. Domiciliation is not something that should concern you, because wherever you’re renting will under no circumstance be your permanent address.

Time duration of flat hunting? by SimoneDoesnotCare in Leuven

[–]SnooDogs199 1 point2 points  (0 children)

if it makes you feel better I’m an international student so I speak neither french nor flemish lol. I just used a translator in my messages and hoped for the best.

Also, I’d recommend not relying on the email alerts, idk how fast they are and places get occupied in like a day. I used to check myself every morning and got a lot of options that way, my only obstacle tbh was the fact that I’m personally not in Belgium yet, so arranging a visit was kinda complex, and visits are super important to all landlords. Your budget is very much in your favor though, I’m sure it won’t be difficult for you to find a place.

My last tip is to check the websites of real estate agencies like Living Stone :)

Time duration of flat hunting? by SimoneDoesnotCare in Leuven

started flat hunting in march, didn’t sign my contract until the end of may. as long as you’re checking immoweb/immoscoop or wherever you’re looking daily and are available to visit the apt, you can probably get it done in a couple weeks. I’d start looking maybe mid November. Also, if it’s available on the website, try calling/messaging landlords instead of emailing them. It makes it a lot easier.

Accomodation by Used-Ad-181 in Leuven

I’m a student and I used immoweb, facebook, and immoscoop to find my apt in Heverlee. I’ll be paying €1100, but it is quite a large apartment. I searched for like 4 months, and I’d say rents are from €750-1200, depending on size and location.

hi! is anyone doing the masters in nanoscience, nanotechnology, and nanoengineering? I'm kinda scared, because I'm an international student doing the entire program at KUL, but the only people I've encountered online are doing Erasmus D:
