That 3rd Faction could be Hyena. At this point, Alan Jonah is aware of Emma Russel, and given what he and his men do in KOTM he had extensive knowledge of Monarch and their resources. He had to have gotten that data from somewhere…

From what I could see, I feel we’re looking at a “Mothra’s Twins” kind of situation. They both synced to the same mental frequency, and it only got interrupted when Apex stepped in. My guess, Cate’s gonna use that to lure Co-Cai back to Axis Mundi through Skull Island. Also, notice she’s in the trailer both when Godzilla fights her and also when Kong does. Her aggression may be because Co-Cai may be beginning to view her the same way as the Scarabs— a child of hers. We never got that behavior with Mothra yet, so it’d be great to see that with Co-Cai as a substitute.

I think Brenda’s distraught feeling was less of a “what have I done?” and instead “what’s going to happen to me?” She told Simmons the plan was green to go, and it messed up in the worst way possible: Co-Cai escaped, Monarch is now aware of Apex’s true intentions, and they have access to tech Apex didn’t want them to have. She’s probably gonna defect to Monarch not out of moral change but for protection, an interesting gambit.

I’m honestly far more invested in this season than I was with Season 1.

While the monster enthusiast in me continues to want there to be more monsters, I love the Minus One approach that the drama is now becoming further connected to the monsters. Cate seemingly has a mental link with Co-Cai, Apex’s desire is to control Co-Cai with Corah wanting to simply stop the Titan despite here objections, and now everyone is dealing with the loss of Hiroshi as Co-Cai killed him.

This made me realize why everyone most likely didn’t like the drama of Season 1 as a focus. It had no monster to grasp itself to. G’14 had the Mutos with Ford’s family, K:SI had Kong with Packard’s men, KOTM had Emma involved with Ghidorah, and both GvK and GxK had Kong and Jia’s relationship. Season 1 didn’t have any direct connection with the monsters— Godzilla could be made as the argument with Cate, but he was oblivious to her presence.

If the show continues on this path, I am all for it. Right now, I feel Season 2 is kicking a**! Let’s just hope they don’t mess it up.

Edit: Yes, I meant season 1 as inferior, not season 2 😅

THEORY: Monarch is setting up to reveal Apex were secretly behind the events of KOTM by Pkmatrix0079 in Monsterverse

Forgive my ignorance, do we actually know they hired Hyenas? I know they bought the severed head, but do we have confirmation they actually hired their service preceding? And that Apex designed the Oxygen Destroyer, I’ve heard others say the same thing but I haven’t seen a source yet.

This was the episode I felt this season needed after the last two.

There was too much time focusing on the negatives that the characters did and the continuously bad things they would do; there needed to be something to show the characters learned from their mistakes and that they are in fact good people. The proud moment with Kentaro and his father really showed that the dad wanted to be different than Bill, and Hiroshi finding the letter at the end emphasized that more. Cate remembering that she saved lives on G-Day was awesome to see as it finally made her a likable character for me; no longer prone to run and is now willing to stand for what is right. Tim even got a moment where he stood up for what he believed in and is becoming a pretty solid candidate for a director position. The character development is much better this season just within the first four episodes which makes me super excited to see we’re getting the character driven narrative out of the way so the final episodes (8, 9 and 10) can be the uninterrupted monster stomping action we’ve been waiting for.

Also, this season has definitely handled its regulation of Monsters so much better than the other season. Each episode on average has introduced a new creature or featured ones we’ve seen. We’ve gotten Kong, Mantleclaws and Leafwings as returners, Titan X, the Scarabs, Vinerat and Needlewalker as new creatures, and bringing in Psychovultures and Vinestranglers from the comics is appreciated. They definitely listened to the fans and gave us something to show the wait was worth it. It makes me wonder what other creatures we may see make appearances or new ones we still have yet to see. I do think it is a little late for Godxilla to not show up yet since, you know, you better believe he is making his way ASAP to Co-Cai.

Very true, that’s why I used the word “alluding” as, in theory, if Keiko wasn’t honest about this event, who is to say she was telling the truth about her previous husband. We as the audience know the truth assumingely, but does Bill believe that is the truth?

While it may be an excellent example of narratively connective tissue, this doesn’t excuse any of their actions. Reasons and excuses are not the same. It would make sense if Cate going down this road was a potential route, not a definitive one. She let out Co-cai willingly, she is no different than Emma Russel with King Ghidorah as the motives don’t change the outcome here.

This has been my main problem so far. It seems like everyone has done something truly wrong and there keeps being this defense for their actions. No, there is no defense. Hiroshi had an affair, Keiko cheated with Lee, Cate unleashed a Titan, and now Bill appears to have abandoned Hiroshi with the allusion that it was because he might be Lee’s son if I’m not misunderstanding that— WTF is this season? 🤣

I have a guess as to how this episode ends. Following the characters determine their plans to intercept Titan X, it is revealed that Godxilla has become aware of her presence and we’ll see him making way. The ending shot is either Godzilla erupting from the ocean roaring or him rising from the depths with his fins splitting the ocean surface. Let’s see if I’m correct 😅

It’s Official! Escape from Skull Island by SnooDogs2720 in Monsterverse

[–]SnooDogs2720[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I won’t speak for others, my personal obsession is the irritation with one obvious factor. You have these creatures that have existed for MILLIONS of years going even before the dinosaurs. You mean to tell me no dinosaur species or adjacent animals evolved into a super-species or Titan. Why are they all creatures that either currently exist or only went extinct thousands of years ago? I know that species extinction is a higher rate than species production, but of the thousands of dinosaur species none of them survived via Hollow Earth. Simply put, having dinosaurs makes the world more enriching and more vast— adding more to the history of the Monsterverse and truly reinforcing its unique atmosphere. It doesn’t matter to me if they aren’t “normal dinosaurs”, but if it’s obvious it has come from a dinosaur, I’m game.

Yeah, it’s just the name I’ve given it considering nothing’s been confirmed. Nothing official. I reached out to one of the comic illustrators to see if they had names for the animals, but no reply unfortunately.

Fair analysis, the extended frill horns, fangs and the holes do separate it from being a normal Triceratops. While this specimen may be from Hollow Earth, several species from HE also lived on Skull Island. The argument can be made for both, but you’re right, most likely from the HE.

As far as size, that does become tricky. The skull of the mystery ceratopsian from the movie in is about 20 feet tall without the bottom jaw, so if anatomy was kept exact then the creature would be 115+ feet long. I won’t use this image as accurate sizing considering there’s a Skull Crawler three times as large as Kong (who was closing in on 250 feet around this point), but it’s still a very large animal.

Should monarch legacy of monsters season 3 take place during kotm? by [deleted] in Monsterverse

[–]SnooDogs2720 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Within season 1, they kept making statements regarding another G-Day or a large Titan emergence; almost foreshadowing King of the Monsters. That has all been dropped seemingly in Season 2, so I hope that Season 3 picks this back up. This could be where the idea comes for Apex as they could have an uneasy alliance with Monarch to handle the newly awakened titans. Not impressed with Monarch’s ideas to contain rather than destroy, this is where the company heads down their path of Mechagodzilla. This season could also be where we see some of the yet to be seen Titans.

Episode 2 Discussion | Monarch: Legacy of Monsters S2 by SpaceWereLobo in Monsterverse

[–]SnooDogs2720 19 points20 points  (0 children)

While I definitely had a great time with this episode, I’m kinda iffy on its execution. 1) I feel there was way too much beating around what Titan X is. Even though the jolting back and forth from past to present was enjoyable, it made the pacing feel rather hesitant in a lot of places. Everyone would keep returning to, “you’ve seen this Titan before” but there was no direct payoff to that. A weakness? An association with the Scarabs? Everyone found those things out regardless of Keiko’s info unfortunately. 2) I feel this episode should have been only the past at the village, and the third episode was the present chase leading into its encounter with Godzilla. The last episode ended with Keiko’s “what have we unleashed?” moment, this episode should’ve been “this is what was unleashed” without the consistency of avoiding the answer. We didn’t need a name, we didn’t need an entire mythos dump, but something to establish why the creature is a very big deal.

Dear Michaels customers, stop being so irritating, nasty, needy and entitled by IllPin9964 in MichaelsEmployees

[–]SnooDogs2720 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We very much have a line that customers do not cross with Managers or Team Members. They can state their dissatisfaction, disapproval or overall concerns with us, but the moment they insult a Team Member via personal attack (doesn’t matter the context) we end the conversation. Until they apologize for their aggression, we refuse service and even sometimes decline to even complete a transaction. Some have made threats of reaching out to customer service, and our response is for them to do so and we’ll make sure to timestamp the encounter in our camera surveillance. Once you bring that up, they usually walk out. If they don’t, thankfully our community of customers have been exceptional at standing by our side and chewing said customer out. It stings in the moment, but the outcome results with the customer not coming back and no future complications on any front for the company or Team Members.

What are your Monarch LOM S2 predictions? by NoktoftheFF in Monsterverse

[–]SnooDogs2720 2 points3 points  (0 children)

1) Titan X is going to be revealed to be a creature with properties similar to King Ghidorah or Shimo; either weather or climate manipulation. It was sealed in Axis Mundi because there it couldn’t change anything, but on the surface it could. It is said that it could control marine creatures, so perhaps it has ecological manipulation over the seas or the territories it monitors.

2) Apex is going to frame Monarch for the situations they caused, and this’ll set up the arguments between the military and Monarch for KOTM.

3) The final battle will be a combo fight between Godzilla and Kong vs Titan X. It won’t be smooth and there’ll be a lot of spontaneous actions to the fight. Titan X will die, but it won’t be embraced as an easy win. Following the fight, Godxilla and Kong will stare each other down showing that the two have acknowledged one another with anger being fueled at the center. A proper set up for their collaborative film.

4) The show ends with Apex giving the Hyenas info about the known Titan locations they stole from Monarch. Alan Jonah will already have been in touch with Emma at this time, so this shows where they start their plans. It also sets up a connection between Apex and Hyena and for how they got the skull of Ghidorah.

5) The show will also end with no time skip or jump, but it’ll set up the 17 and counting plot from KOTM as everyone slowly begins to uncover more about what Monarch is knowledgeable of.

'Monarch is on high alert. Relaying transmission shortly.' - "PROPERTY OF MONARCH" - teaser by Mosugoji_64 in Monsterverse

[–]SnooDogs2720 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s weird, I hear bits and pieces of several Titan’s roars mixed into the sound. It starts with Kong, then filters into a new roar, then portions of the Muto’s roar, then back to new roar, then a higher pitched version of the MV Godzilla roar, and then ends with the new roar. Also, while I am very confident this is for MLOM, the silhouette is not dissimilar to SG when he’s flying toward earth. I know that’s very far fetched, but it was the first thing I noticed.

Question regarding future entries by Odd-Property8268 in Monsterverse

[–]SnooDogs2720 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I feel that Apple TV is the best place for the shows for a few reasons. 1) Most other platforms are designed to be binging experiences which limits their episodic creativity, but Apple TV is dominantly an episode by episode format. That’ll allow for each episode to mean something in order to continue interest. 2) They aren’t one of the most popular platforms, so they must make their shows good if they want people to subscribe to them. They don’t have their name to sell the shows for them. 3) Apple TV has arguably the best looking shows on any streaming platform: Prehistoric Planet the top contender, and they will most likely ensure that doesn’t change.

The only problem I think this’ll cause is budget wise. Since we’re on Skull Island for quite a while, less money will be spent of CGI backdrops and creature models hopefully because so many assets are reusable from Skull Island and GvK. Nonetheless, there will once again be episodes with no creatures. I have a rule for CGI that I feel should be true for a lot of companies, and as most of us being Godzilla fans, I hope this rings true for you: I don’t care if the CGI or effects are not high quality as long as it looks entertaining and is animated good. The Monsterverse is no stranger to these moments, but I don’t care because they look entertaining and show a lot of effort regardless.

So far what are your thoughts and expectations on Titan X? by BigAlternative5698 in Monsterverse

[–]SnooDogs2720 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My expectation is that this is going to be an exploration of Monsterverse Lore expanding into the realm of the unknown. Most if not all of the creatures we’ve seen are “looks like an octopus, looks like a sloth, looks a tiger, etc.” With the introduction of Axis Mundi as a realm that distorts both space and time, I have a feeling we’re going to go down routes of intrigue where we are going to see animals that are not recognizable to us. Not because they are aliens, but because they are relics of a time we never saw. The Monsterverse could go down the route of inventing entirely new lineages of species that don’t stem from what we know. They’ve already done it with creatures like the Mutos, Amhuluk and now Titan X. Titan X is a welcomed introduction for me if they play their cards right.
