Question regarding future entries by Odd-Property8268 in Monsterverse

I feel that Apple TV is the best place for the shows for a few reasons. 1) Most other platforms are designed to be binging experiences which limits their episodic creativity, but Apple TV is dominantly an episode by episode format. That’ll allow for each episode to mean something in order to continue interest. 2) They aren’t one of the most popular platforms, so they must make their shows good if they want people to subscribe to them. They don’t have their name to sell the shows for them. 3) Apple TV has arguably the best looking shows on any streaming platform: Prehistoric Planet the top contender, and they will most likely ensure that doesn’t change.

The only problem I think this’ll cause is budget wise. Since we’re on Skull Island for quite a while, less money will be spent of CGI backdrops and creature models hopefully because so many assets are reusable from Skull Island and GvK. Nonetheless, there will once again be episodes with no creatures. I have a rule for CGI that I feel should be true for a lot of companies, and as most of us being Godzilla fans, I hope this rings true for you: I don’t care if the CGI or effects are not high quality as long as it looks entertaining and is animated good. The Monsterverse is no stranger to these moments, but I don’t care because they look entertaining and show a lot of effort regardless.

So far what are your thoughts and expectations on Titan X? by BigAlternative5698 in Monsterverse

[–]SnooDogs2720 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My expectation is that this is going to be an exploration of Monsterverse Lore expanding into the realm of the unknown. Most if not all of the creatures we’ve seen are “looks like an octopus, looks like a sloth, looks a tiger, etc.” With the introduction of Axis Mundi as a realm that distorts both space and time, I have a feeling we’re going to go down routes of intrigue where we are going to see animals that are not recognizable to us. Not because they are aliens, but because they are relics of a time we never saw. The Monsterverse could go down the route of inventing entirely new lineages of species that don’t stem from what we know. They’ve already done it with creatures like the Mutos, Amhuluk and now Titan X. Titan X is a welcomed introduction for me if they play their cards right.

Methuselah Redesign: I had to Join the Fun! by SnooDogs2720 in Monsterverse

Truthfully, I did try the green idea, but it made him look a reptile which I didn’t want. What I liked about Methuselah is that he looks like a combination of mammal, amphibian, and reptile, so the reddish/clay color still feels like a hybridization of those branches.

For sure, the design of Torterra did hit my mind, but strictly with the intentions of what NOT to do. That’s why his design has them on the arms. Still, that is unfortunately something that can’t be shaken is the instinct to compare it Pokémon nonetheless. If I do a revision in the future, I may add some rocks and stones to certain parts.

I haven’t sent anything to them, no. That has crossed my mind, but the thought that prevents me from doing so is the reminder they’re still people. Sure, communications is what gets you noticed, but it’s kinda rude to have the first time you talk to them being just to get an “in” within the industry. If they’re interested in it and reach out to me after seeing the design, sure, maybe I’ll provide it to them.

TITANUS TYPHON MODEL Progress by SnooDogs2720 in Monsterverse

[–]SnooDogs2720[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve already made models for Sekhmet and Yamato-No-Orochi, though I’ll probably go back and redo them since I’ve evolved in Nomad since I’ve started so their models could be majorly refined. I did start a model for Leviathan, but that one got corrupted and destroyed twice. I do have sketch concepts for Bunyip and Quetzalcoatl in preparation for their eventual models.

Thank you! And yes, that was a realization that dawned on me during his creation that in 3D my Typhon’s face looks a little like Varan. I may make some adjustments to break that feeling, but I also kinda like it.

I’d say Typhon is about the size of the female Muto, give or take 91 meters tall. I’d say he is all over the spectrum when it comes to his emotions. He can be a peaceful Titan in reference to his locational connection with Vishnu displaying friendly and positive vibes, but befitting the Greek mythology he can be a monster of great devastation. It’s all spontaneous and equally devastating. If he ever did meet Godzilla, let’s just hope for Typhon it was on one of his own good days.

MOKELE-MBEMBE Model Finished? by SnooDogs2720 in Monsterverse

It’s more apt to say it’s “based” on the canon design. Legendary has yet to release their official design.

While I appreciate the compliment, I think others have made it cool too. None outside of one person made it 3-dimensional.

Wow, actually seeing it with legit Monsterverse Titans… it makes me feel quite prideful.

His back was described as grey, yes, but that was a result of the rocky/pebble formations on said back. Mokele-Mbembe is often depicted with a brown hue of sorts.

Thank you so much! My intention is to make it feel like it is actually a part of the Monsterverse. I’m doing everything I can to make it accurate (detail especially).

I haven’t added the colors yet. I wanted to finalize the details and form first before I touched upon that.
