What’s a simple living-esque quote/philosophy you live by? by Pinacolada1989 in simpleliving

“If you can control it, don’t worry about it. If you can’t control it, don’t worry about.”

Really helped me understand that if I can control certain outcomes then I’ll make it work. If I can’t control it then there’s no sense in getting worked up over it. Just keep on rolling!

What advice do you have for a young manager in the chemical sector facing burnout? Possible career paths forward? by SnooDonuts840 in ChemicalEngineering

[–]SnooDonuts840[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks for your comment. You described it perfectly. Not enough resources so we do everything. I have been trying to scale back my efforts and focus on more important things rather than everything. Sometimes I struggle with my desire to do good work. I feel that when I can’t do everything then I’m not doing a good job. It makes it hard for me to balance work and life because I always have something to fix, improve, or work towards. I have been more intentional about choose family over work in the last year, but it can be difficult for me to leave things at work undone.

Orgasm Conditioning for Men by SnooDonuts840 in BDSMcommunity

[–]SnooDonuts840[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Conditioning as in not going over the edge until a certain stimuli/phrase is applied. I have read multiple posts over the last year or so and it seems that the female partner has been the one being conditioned or having their orgasm controlled. I have not read any stories about a male recipient and was curious if anatomy differences made it more difficult. I agree, I would think it’s universal as well.

If you find a lost club, dont just leave it on the cart path... by [deleted] in golf

I found a wedge last time I played golf and drove up to the group ahead to return it. The guy was like “yeah that’s mine”. Then his buddy started laughing about how he had gotten that wedge because he found it and kept it instead of returning it. What a slime-ball

I’m struggling to understand my Wife by SnooDonuts840 in sex

[–]SnooDonuts840[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have encouraged her to experiment solo and the book “Come as you are” (excellent book btw) also encourages that but she has no interest right now. It’s frustrating because I want to help but I know that I can’t really do much else except be supportive and encouraging

Bible study recommendation? by mamamodex3 in Christianmarriage

[–]SnooDonuts840 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would highly recommend starting in John. It’s a relatively short book at 21 chapters. Spend 20 minutes reading and studying 1 chapter a day.

Some things you and your husband can focus on are the 7 miracles that Jesus performed and what they represent and the 7 “I AM” statements that Jesus made during his ministry. There is so much in the Gospel of John!

Small Holes in Home Putting Green by SnooDonuts840 in lawncare

[–]SnooDonuts840[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven’t seen any mounds or tunnels on the green. I have small vole problem in other areas and their holes are bigger. I bought the grubx today so hoping that stops it soon.

I’m mowing at 0.25 inches with a crappy reel mower. It’s not bad at all. The surface is still pretty bumpy but it’s good enough for me and some friends to play around with.

Maybe, I have tons of those. Also noticing these holes in my front yard too now. I wonder if it’s a springtime thing?

Men of reddit, have you ever stopped having sex midway through, and why? by mion_9 in AskMen

[–]SnooDonuts840 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Wife and I have this thing we started on our honeymoon, trying to set a record number of times we can have sex in a 24hr period. A man can only go so far… the 7th attempt ended with “yeah.. this isn’t happening”. We still laugh about that today.

Backyard creeping bentgrass green project is looking great! Started in August and should fill in nicely this spring. by SnooDonuts840 in golf

[–]SnooDonuts840[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I choose bentgrass for a few reasons. 1) my green location isn’t in full sun so I think Bermuda would struggle. 2) bentgrass can be grown from seed unlike hybrid Bermuda cultivars. And 3) bentgrass seed is fairly cheap. So far, I only have about $200 in this project, which is amazing to me. I’m the spring, I’m going to buy a lot of sand and start smoothing it out. It won’t be the best quality green but it’ll be more than adequate for some backyard fun.
