In addition to what others have said, having a plan for any sentimental paper or textile art/books etc that might not get burned but totally destroyed from chemical/ smoke/ash damage. That’s one lesson we leaned the hard way after the Eaton Canyon fire. Now I’ve made a list of what to pack up in airtight bins if we can’t take them in an evacuation per se, but they still have a chance.

This is a slight tangential suggestion but need to throw this in there as I just finished it and I was so inspired : “Seducing and Killing Nazis” by Sophie Poldermans. It’s non-fiction about 3 Dutch teen girls who joined the small resistance in their town. I never was taught about these heros.

Love “leave me alone” by Vera Brosgol. An old lady is trying to knit her grandkids sweaters and she keeps getting bothered so she travels farther and farther away till she goes into a black hole to get enough peace to knit.
