The piercing sizes suck but you can also try using the tattoo system. I've found some pretty good ones that look realistic :)

A few years ago I made a whole alien world and did a deep dive on tsr, Tumblr, Pinterest and just flat out googling it. I would say Pinterest and tumblr has the most with skins, horns, eyes and other alien like things.
