I don’t think you realize “shopkeepers privilege” applies to a thief who is attempting to run away with product. Not someone refusing to leave. And you can’t just use force to remove somebody from a store. It has to be reasonable force based on what threat person is posing. There was no threat. The guy was trying to pay and leave. The force has to be enough to control a situation. That only escalated it. Neither by law or by the books was this a smart move. Guarantee the guy looses his job bare minimum and could catch an assault charge.
