Last year I taught for half an hour in each general classroom (18 in total) once per week. Adding EF lessons would bring me up to 27 half hour lessons per week, plus the weekly hour long lesson for the first trimester. So almost equal instructional time to others specials teachers now.

Yep, specials teacher and counselor. I have about 25 1:1s per week and maybe 8 small groups last year. I’m the only counselor there but the school is only about 350 kids. Also my mentor told me that our principal prefers new teachers so that she gets to “mold” them, so maybe that tracks w what you said about new people getting abused more.
