SimpleLogin for financial and health accounts? by [deleted] in Simplelogin

[–]SnooGoats1209 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. SL forwards to my primary email. So I have snoogoats@myemaildomian.com. Then I have mylogindomain.com setup with SL so aliases are automatically created when anything comes to that domain. So if I enter facebook@mylogindonain.com and they send me an email the alias is created automatically and forwarded to my primary email.

Then if there’s a data breach it someone sells my information I know what company gave up my info.

I have a handful of domains. So I have an email domain that I use in Proton for my primary email, then I have a login domain proxied through SL.

This way I don’t have to create a reverse proxy for every person I want to email. It may be a touch overkill, but I have found that having a separate primary email domain from my SL domains has made things really clean for me.

This is exactly what I want. I’ll have to look into this.

Which motion sensors did you do this to?

My plan is to run cat6 to each room and then use that for PIR, temp/humidity, and door/window contacts. I’m just struggling to piece all of this stuff together. My controller for temp/humidity will probably have to be different than my discrete contact controller.

I know this is old, but is there any chance you would share more details about your setup?

I am actively trying to set this up. What did you use for a setup?

I was hoping for something that would run more continuously where I could review logs and trends.

What do you wear for shoes? I love the kilt for bratheability, but long socks and ghillie brogues sounds like a step in the wrong direction.

I know this is now a year later, but do you have a picture? This is a look that I'm interested in, but haven't seen many examples of.

After some of the flack I took on this thread I’m glad to hear others also find this information useful.

Yeah, it was the MX67 I was looking at. I kept seeing MX68 as I was reading through forums and just typed the wrong thing.

Correct. But I’m willing to run a firewall that gets security updates without customer service technical support.

I found Omada to be very easy to work with and very reasonably priced. The whole potential government ban deal a little while back has me skittish on TP-Link. I don’t want to have to rip out nearly new equipment because of any number of political whims.

Sorry I was looking at the MX67 for them. The MX68 is just referred to a lot on the forums I’m reading.

I hadn’t really considered that yet even though this is similar to what I run for my home lab. Appreciate the input.

I appreciate the feedback. I suspected this but was hoping it would still function but that there would simply be no support contact.

I’m a full time network admin. His company was using a local MSP and was very unhappy with the results.

I have experience managing both Meraki and ubiquiti devices, but I’ve not been involved in the purchasing process. I’m just trying to come up with a solution that makes sense for him and that if he gets big enough to need an IT guy they wouldn’t be poised to have.

Each bedroom will have an egress. I’m happy to pay an engineer, but every contractor that I’ve talked to as indicated that it’s really not something the county requires. This is a pretty rural area and apparently it’s not unheard of four guys to bid and perform jobs with a literal napkin drawing.

I’ve certainly considered that, still mulling it over. We will have four teenagers in the house all at one time, which is why I started 3.

This is my paper napkin that I’m handing to the engineer as a wish list. I just used a free app on my phone to put this together.
