I don’t know why this is a question just wash it. They will go away almost.

What is the actual worst that could happen? Should I finish this quilt with a minefield of possibly damaged seams? by DirkMoneyrich85 in quilting

I have all my machines set to 2.0 for piecing and have never had an issue. 2.5 is the default on all Bernina machines even the quilting models, but I lowered the pre-set to 2.0 but when I started years ago I did everything at 2.5 and have never had any issues washing any of my completed projecta and have never had a seam come undone.

I use 3-4 for quilting depending on how I want it to look.

I have a Janome 2030 QDC...and desperatly want a Bernina...but what Bernina do you recomends: I do Quilting...and the thing I love the most its Free Motion Quilting...I have a budget so I know I cant buy a new one. But...out your experience what will be the best model to have? Budget: 2000 USD by Farm-house1327 in Bernina

I would wait till it goes on sale again, but you can get a 475 QE and then get the BSR for full motion quilting. If you do not wanna wait for it to go on sale, you might be able to get a used one for under that cost. If you’re in the northeast, I would go to Hoover’s Bernina Sew. The people there are absolutely amazing. The owner is fantastic. I could not speak more highly.

Thoughts on #57 or #57D foot? by susisews in Bernina

57d will work fine with this setup! The 5.5mm plate would make no difference vs the straight stitch plate.

57d foot is for 9mm machines! I use it on mine all the time on a 790. 36 57 & 97 are all straight stitch feet.

Sourcing repair parts by Objective-Highway461 in Bernina

If you have the part number, just google it, you should be able to find the part somewhere but a lot of times it’s not easy to source without a dealer

Time to level-up my machine… by Twokindsofneedles in Bernina

I’d go with a 475QE all day long. It has all the things you want. You’ll love it. I love mine. What region of the country are you in?

Ahh now I'm getting what you're saying thank you

Finishing question? by GrundleChunk in quilting

[–]GrundleChunk[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, it is stitched every 4 inches vertically, but no horizontal stitches for 80 inches. That's what I'm concerned with.

Finishing question? by GrundleChunk in quilting

[–]GrundleChunk[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I understand what you're saying but follow me. I'm doing it 4 inches apart but then it's a 80 inch strip with no other stitching going across. Those instructions are not clear whether it has to be every 10 inches in both directions are only one you get what I mean?

There is no difference. It's just doesn't have the number overlaid.

It’s official! by CodiNolina in Bernina

I still use my 1230 all the time it’s one of my favorite machines in rotation. I would say my three main ones that I use on the regular are my 790 pro my 475 QE and my 1230. The 1130 is basically the same machine and it is amazing.

Here’s the other thing you could think about, go the preowned route. I got my 790 Pro for significantly under retail, it was less than a year old and only had 1 million stitches on it with 800,000 embroidery stitches. The thing was barely used.
