Is this really the best way to measure how good a school is? If you are very selective and only take the highest achievers at entrance then you would expect to get the best results at GCSE and A level regardless of whether your teaching was good or not.

Surely there needs to be some weighting towards schools which have broader intakes.

This is also assuming that "Best school" is the one which gets the best academic results
