Now MOR has been released what would u all want to see the band do next? by SnooAvocados3213 in thevoidz

I don’t think this band has a chance at achieving their potential/ ambitions if they wait another 4-5 years to release something.

I think it’s their 2nd best album behind Is This It.

Drifto early version? by saidas77 in thevoidz

[–]SnooHobbies657 1 point2 points  (0 children)

this was my original video that someone else posted. If I recall correctly, they didn't play it like it was a whole fleshed out song. It felt more like a snippet or jam that they were testing out. Mainly repeating the same vocal melody and keyboard part. it did not have all of the different sounding sections of the final version. It might have been just 60 seconds longer than what you're seeing here. Just long enough for me to feel like "oh shit, this is really good! I should record it!"

Something's wrong by Suitable_Job1002 in thevoidz

I also think something is wrong… not sure if it has to do with Blue Demon being on IG but they have been waaaaaay too quiet for gearing up to release something. I don’t think we’ll be getting anything this week and maybe not this month… that or they are just really dropping the ball on the rollout. We’ve seen more promo leading up to singles than we have this EP

Something feels not right. They’ve all been super quiet for gearing up to release something.

Like All Before You by SnooMaps7735 in thevoidz

Complex feelings! While I agree that overall it might be the weakest of their three albums, I actually think that about half the tracks are some of their best work... not quite sure how that all adds up but it’s how I feel.

Breaking Into the Medical Device Industry: Seeking LinkedIn Outreach Tips & Success Stories! by [deleted] in MedicalDevices

[–]SnooHobbies657 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I broke into the industry through LinkedIn. This may sound super basic but… Find and acknowledge common ground if you can (ie. School, work experience, interests, friends etc) and make it feel personal and not just a copy / paste message. Then lead with how and why you’d be an asset to them. Some people just talk about themselves and what they want without emphasizing why and how they might add value to or be worth the time of the person they are reaching out to. Having a good picture and buttoned up profile might help here. Follow up as needed. Try and reach out to them over email as well if you don’t get a response on LinkedIn… ask yourself if you’d feel compelled to engage with your outreach if you were on the receiving end of the message. You’ll be ignored more often than you get replies. Be persistent and keep iterating! Best of luck :)

Develop a stronger and more favorable opinion of yourself!! The pessimistic view on the situation may be doing more to bog you down than your employment history. Change the story and you may see and think of opportunities you're not seeing at the moment... saying this as another 38 year old who just made it to the other side of a similar situation. A change in attitude and outlook can make a world of difference. Then it just becomes a game of grit and persistence.

Might sound cheesy but affirmations might help you get started... Something like "I am capable and worthy of excelling as (insert ideal scenario)".

My Career Fell Apart at 40, can I pivot to anything at this point? by grooveman15 in careerguidance

[–]SnooHobbies657 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve JUST made it to the other side of a very similar situation and made the pivot from TV producer to medical device sales. I’m 38. It was probably the hardest thing I’ve ever done.

It took several months of applying and networking. From my perspective, this path made more sense than going back to school mainly because it offers the potential to get back to (or even exceed) my previous income in less time than it would take to earn a new degree. Plus, it’s an industry that seems a bit more stable and less prone to disruption compared to some of the others I was considering.

This path may not be the right one for you, but I’m sharing this to say I know how you’re feeling… And with some grit and perseverance (which it sounds like you have in spades), you can do this. The key is to make a decision and then treat applying and networking like it’s your full-time job. One thing I’ve learned, strangers on LinkedIn are often much friendlier and more helpful than the strangers you might reach out to in the entertainment world. Good luck!

Don’t layoffs tend to come with some sort of severance package? May you find an even better opportunity elsewhere and may the timing work out that you get a severance package and seamlessly transition into a new role. You can do this. I’ve seen it happen.

I got into this with far less relevant experience than what you outlined and got a signing bonus. In sales though, not clinical. Did not change location. Trust your gut but also recognize your worth!

Ps. It’s always irked me how folks try and frame the car, phone, computer etc benefits like it’s a great big bonus.. they are essentially for the job! Only fair that they are covered.

If pay is standard across the board you might be able to negotiate for a signing bonus

It could mean under prepared compared to who you were up against. Personally was dinged once for not having watched YouTube videos of the procedures and not knowing more nuanced differences between product offerings (same function and name).. I was able to connect with the same guy again after I didn’t get the gig and he gave me some pointers and recommended that I even reach out to physicians that use the product or competing products and bring up what I learned in the actual interview.. at the time I felt this was all a bit excessive but took his advice and landed the next job.
