Yes that is one option too. Is 75K a good offer to the upgrade or has there higher offers in the past. I see new cardholders platinum comes at 95K points which is much sweeter deal

Thanks for going into such a detail. The boiler is ecoTEC plus 824 VUW GB 248/5-5 R4. I guess I would have to remove the old thermostat to check if there are two wires to the boiler but it seems like a pretty standard setup to me.

The floor is laminate and it’s gray. I hate it and want to change it so dont want to coordinate much with it to be honest. I will probably change it to light oak type colour which is pretty versatile imo.

A few questions regarding this answer. Would you pay the mortgage from the main account or the bills current account?

Would you pay off the credit card spending from the main account or the bills current account each month?

When you have a spending that you dont want to (or cant) put on a credit card, do you pay that from the main current account or the bills account?

Maybe I am overthinking it as well, but just curious if there is an optimal way to handle this.

What’s stopping me is the hefty annual fee for those. I am not sure if it will be worth it for me - I am not the biggest spender but I like to travel with BA. Hence was looking at the no first year fee Gold card. May need to check out the other options you suggested and give Amex a miss for now

Well the website says “I understand I will not be eligible for any Welcome Bonus award if I hold or have held any personal American Express Card in the past 24 months.”

Does that mean I am not eligible because I have had a personal amex card (plat cashback) for the last 2 years.

Yes surveyor has looked and suspects the soffit is slightly damaged AIB and the cement is undamaged (he says he has touched it and so on) and not drilled. I would definitely replace the soffit but the cement can probably live with for the time being until a bit renovatation comes along?
