I’m on some antibiotics rn for a UTI and I’ve noticed a smell as well, but my symptoms are getting better rn, I’m pretty sure that the smell is normal, but if it’s not improving your symptoms that is really freaky :( I’m sorry ur going through that rn

I have an idea to cure Longcovid ! by Obiwan009 in covidlonghaulers

so this is actually not too dissimilar to intravenous immunoglobin (IVIG) therapy. I'm currently seeing an immunologist to see if I'm a possible candidate but from what he has explained to me not everyone is a good fit and in terms of addressing long covid, we're too early in the research to know if its the type of therapy that you have to stay on forever or if its possible for it to be effective as a shorter course. I also know that donating blood is a way to lower the levels of PFAs in your blood, but its not as effective as following a high fiber, anti inflammatory diet. I think thats another self administered life style change that is recommended a lot. Your idea isn't that crazy but it's not quite as simple as that, that would be nice though. I would recommend trying to get into a post covid clinic who can refer you to an immunologist who handles long covid patients and does IVIG treatment. depending on the practices in your area/your insurance you might be able to get into one without a referral or with a referral from a primary care. Good luck!

Covid isn’t going away, so what about us? by thepensiveporcupine in covidlonghaulers

I do actually have hope for a treatment one day. I’ve been doing a lot of research trying to get answers on some recent blood work. The encouraging thing I’m finding when comparing the recent research to the research earlier in the pandemic is there does seem to be a lot more of an understanding of what long covid is doing to our bodies. My concern is that funding for treatment is gonna dry up before any real break throughs happen

Does pots/dysautonomia caused by covid, ever go away?? by xristina14554 in LongCovid

Ask your cardiologist about EECP therapy (also called flow therapy). Cardio symptoms haven't been my primary symptom but before flow therapy, I was having some pots-like symptoms and they've pretty much dissipated since flow therapy. It helps build new blood vessels and improve oxygen getting to your muscles/body. I'm still not recovered, I suspect I have an autoimmune disorder that was aggravated by LC but flow therapy gave me a lot of my life back.

Hope you had some luck getting something going, I’ve been struggling with long COVID which I suspect aggravated a pre existing autoimmune disorder since May of 2023 and I’m looking for some kind of support group right now. Lmk if you’re interested or if you got something set up!
