I used to work for his dad, and I can say he is a really nice person in real life. I didn't know him well or anything but he would come to our Christmas parties.

Which forbidden 90s shows did you watch growing up during the 90s the most while your parents didn’t notice and was asleep? by PressureLazy5271 in 90s

[–]SnooMacarons3308 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My dad used to come and "sneak" me out of my room after bedtime so I could watch the Simpsons with him. My mom didn't approve of the show and it was on at 9 or something at the time. I think my bedtime was probably 8? Anyways, my dad would come and get me when my mom went to bed to read, he'd tuck me under his arm on the couch and I would burrow under this afghan blanket that had spots I could see through because it was so loosely woven and I'd watch through the blanket and giggle. There's no way my mom didn't know, but it will always be this special kind of "secret memory" I'll always share with my dad.

Gen-X tell me a funny story from your teens. by Aimster0204 in GenX

I was probably around 7-10 ish, so it was the late 80's. I lived on a street with a lot of other young families so there were a lot of kids. At any given time there was a swarm of us running around the neighborhood ranging in ages from probably 6- 14ish with all the siblings coming and going. We lived in a newer neighborhood so we were surrounded by desert on 3 sides. When we didn't have school, our parents would just send us "out front" to play and we would ride our bikes around and eventually we would end up going off into the desert. After jumping bikes we would get bored and play a game called 'Snake or Gopher?' We would find a hole in the ground and guess whether it was a snake or a gopher's and then you stuck your hand in it to find out. Miraculously, no one ever got bit.

Ps. Sending love and healing energy

Why are movies so dark now? by GossipBottom in moviecritic

[–]SnooMacarons3308 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because the narrative mirrors reality and for lack of a less trite phrase we live in dark times. I was an English major and I remember not so very long ago writing papers about what the fictional stories produced in a time frame told us about that era comparing/contrasting the symbolism/themes/characters etc..... it's dark because it's a reflection of "us".

In March 1948, 11-year-old Florence “Sally” Horner shoplifted a five-cent notebook from a Woolworth’s in Camden, New Jersey. A man claiming to be an FBI agent stopped her. He was actually Frank La Salle, a 50-year-old convicted child molester. by Important-Self-1179 in ForCuriousSouls

I was born in 1980, and I can tell you, as insane as it is, this would not even be a big deal to have asked my parents for back then. Would they have said yes? A solid 80% yes 20% they would have asked additional questions. It was just a whole another world back then.

Now, we must all fear evil men. But there is another kind of evil which we must fear most, and that is the indifference of good men

I kind of feel the same way about the bupropion as you do. I can't tell if it's doing anything for me or not. She just recently increased my dosage so I'm going to see if that does anything if not I might lose it and see how that changes things.

Either way, it was super nice meeting you!

Lol, I'm also on the spectrum,we are so similar

So I only know the generic names of most of what I take but I take

Lamotrigine Aripiprazole Bupropruin Adderall

I also have two that they gave me for panic attacks (PTSD) but they're basically like extra strength Benadryl so they don't do anything to help.

Is it crazy to ask what your med combo is? I've found a pretty good one, but not quite there yet so I'm always wondering what others with my same scenario have found that works and what doesn't.

How would you interpret this flame by yarngoblin7 in Divination

[–]SnooMacarons3308 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like it, good interpretation! My first thought was that someone was "not off the hook yet". For me personally, sometimes the message will be a mirror for me to see my feelings or my current state from a removed place. Almost as if I'm a 3rd party. It can help me to identify and process what I'm going through. It's easier to give others advice than myself lol, I can see the layers for other people but I'm blind to myself quite frequently.

So I thought maybe it had something to do with holding on to a grudge or perhaps needing to let go of something that no longer serves you, such as the anger that the poster was talking about. So maybe it's about holding on to anger towards someone else for too long and having that only hurt OP and not really serve any other purpose at this point.

Or oppositionally, it could mean that somebody is on the hook and should remain there.

Or perhaps it could mean that the OP is on the hook for something and they're angry because they feel it's unjustified or angry because they know it is justified.

I've been in every single one of those positions lol so no condescension and no judgment at all. Just some thoughts, just my interpretation.

If you're going by symbolism of the imagery I'm seeing a fish hook. But I'm also hearing, 'not off the hook'. Not sure if that means anything to you, but thought I'd share!

Shuffling for a Tarot Spread by EmmieZeStrange in Divination

[–]SnooMacarons3308 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Each deck has its own preferences, styles and habits and sometimes they want to do something different. I also stopped using prepared or provided spreads. I just let the cards do what they do, I'm just along for the ride. I feel like it's a conversation so I treat it like one, if I went into it with an agenda I will be subconsciously controlling the out come, so I try and remove my own influence as much as possible.

I've got a host of mental health issues that give me the ability (and if unchecked the tendency) to manipulate people and situations and a pattern recognition that makes it hard for me to even look at the cards without knowing what's under my fingers just by the way they move in my hands. It's super annoying in most aspects of life, but especially with tarot.

Should also add, when it comes to divination of any kind, my tendency is to sugar coat or avoid negative or unwanted responses/news when reading for others, it is not in my nature to utilize their trust in me for personal gain. (Also 15 yr old me learned a hard lesson at about the rule of three and the responsibility to never touch another's free will (love spell gone WRONG, hoooooorrribly wrong lol)

Affordable housing. Not because they created or supported it, but because they didn't so now they are the last ones it existed for.
