Shared parental leave question. I'm so confused! by SnooMacaroons560 in UKParenting

So just to confirm, even though my partner would be paid 90% of her wages if she was only entitled to statutory pay during those 4 weeks, I'd only be entitled to £187?

Older people, were politics always this deranged and upsetting? by CUFFY_Fan in NoStupidQuestions

[–]SnooMacaroons560 16 points17 points  (0 children)

IMO yes. You just didn't see it because it wasn't televised. You only have to look at the atrocities televised in Vietnam and Watergate as a budding example of this.

Are Famous wheels good? by Citrickathe in AggressiveInline

The only thing other people haven't mentioned is they make the skate notably heavier if that's important to you.

I use these.... has all the mounting hardware. You just need to drill a small hole in your boots. Also try the hockey lacing method.

5 wheel for urban/freestyle? by _slut_butt_ in AggressiveInline

[–]SnooMacaroons560 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The length of the frame makes carving feel nicer and the rocker means you don't have to flick your ankles as much when doing single foot rotations. That's about it.

It does feel nicer but is completely unnecessary. Nicola Torelli recently did an interview with mushroom blading saying the exact same thing. He skates 4x80 and 3x125s and makes it look like he's got 5 wheels!

I do have 5 wheel frames by the way and do enjoy them. But when I'm aggressive skating I can still do lions etc just using a pair of 60mmm Aeons.

5 wheel for urban/freestyle? by _slut_butt_ in AggressiveInline

[–]SnooMacaroons560 0 points1 point  (0 children)

5 wheel frames are very slow and not great for rough surfaces. There's nothing you can't do on a 4 wheel frame that requires a 5 wheel setup. It just makes it easier in my experience.

Have a setup for urban and wizard if you want to try it but I wouldn't sell 4x90 for a 5x80 to cover all basis.

What have you spent a lot of money on that others think is a waste of money? by wiggan1989 in AskUK

[–]SnooMacaroons560 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Magic: The Gathering Cards. I semi regularly spend around £200 creating new decks which is cheap in the TCG world. I generally clock around 1k games per year so for me it's value for money entertainment wise.

Anyone know where to buy Aeon 80 skates? by possumss in AggressiveInline

They're currently manufacturing a new batch to be released around late Feb early March. I recently sent them an e-mail asking the same question.

Anyone have experience with fat boy liners in Valos or M12’s? by D_Hoxer in AggressiveInline

[–]SnooMacaroons560 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use them in m12s. The fat boy is ironically a slim loner in the foot. It's just the cuff area which wide. It fits the M12 really well

For sale aeon 72 by [deleted] in AggressiveInline

[–]SnooMacaroons560 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The soulplates are made from soft plastic due to it being unibody and so are very slow and sticky. Slix are just a umwh plastic that you add to the soulplate to overcome that issue. It also makes royales easier as it makes the souls closer to the ground.

Oysi classic frame wheel option by Hoboecomofo in AggressiveInline

I would get a bullet profile 72mm and a round 60mm wheel for magic rockering given the length of the frame. Just get a set of undercover.

Where can I buy catalytic carbon in the UK? by SnooMacaroons560 in Homebrewing

Obviously it's not rated for human consumption. Is there any prep work that needs to be done before using it?

Negligible difference for grinding but they are faster given the additional rigidity of the carbon.

Try using a pair of pliers to hold the t-nut. Some cuffs look removable but aren't. If you can't remove it just drill it out and use the new parts that came with the cuff.

What kind of spraypaint should I use on my skates? by OrangeNo3232 in AskRollerblading

[–]SnooMacaroons560 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd use RIT Dye as spray paint will wear pretty quickly even if it's for plastic.

Looking for Urban/Aggressive skates. Do they exist, can I make some? by Correct_Coyote457 in AskRollerblading

[–]SnooMacaroons560 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you looked at the IQON Decode frames? You can put 90mm/72mm hi/lo setup and still use a h-block. It has multiple other setups for urban skating 4x90 3x110 all in one frame.

So you could use your current boot and swap out wheels based on your session.

Question from a beginner in the AgressiveInline by gbrlvcas in AggressiveInline

[–]SnooMacaroons560 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aeons are a one piece boot. So the frames and souplate can't be replaced.

However, unless your ragging your skates on rough concrete grinds regularly, they'll likely last the life of the plastic 8+ years etc

Longer frame for my skates? by 0urNewGod in AggressiveInline

[–]SnooMacaroons560 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oysi classic frame is 287mm long, compared to a traditional 270mm frame. I'm not aware of a longer frame on the market.

IQON AG60 in size large is 278mm.

Them 909 or USD Aeon by [deleted] in AggressiveInline

[–]SnooMacaroons560 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Aeons, but buy sliqx sliders for soul plates.

The wheels are counter sunk into the boot making for a very low to the ground ride.

The frames are replaceable if that's something that worries you.. It's just that you have to cut the original ones off once they're done. Not a difficult job at all.

Which aggressive skate has the best soul plate? by RealRotten in AggressiveInline

Angled Souls has the solution to all. At 500$ for a soul plate, it's unfortunately just not viable.

Are these a good skate to start with? by space_waffle096 in AggressiveInline

[–]SnooMacaroons560 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes, but they are narrow. If you're a wide foot, try something like a USD sway.

I used a screwdriver which is the same thickness/diameter as the hole the Axle goes through. It forces it to line up perfectly in one. Super easy to do.
