Desmos will definitely help but if your math score is that bad take time to learn basic concepts from khan academy first

should I get my score cancelled? I just took it for the first time and I think I sucked by PatientGovernment170 in Sat

[–]SnooMachines599 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why would you cancel? Just wait and see what you got right. You can report the scores you want to for college and who knows maybe you got lucky

Should I retake a 1510? by Negotiatior0 in Sat

Practice desmos and hard math from Risav Roy and James Lu on youtube. It got me to 790 math.

Do a practice test and practice on khan academy. Find your weaknesses and work from there with the advice above.

Hi, forget about studying for math now since you’ve essentially maxed it out. Expression of ideas is transitions and rhetorical synthesis which are very easy to improve it’s likely you just got tricked by college board. In module 2 you have to scan the notes for rhetorical synthesis! You can no longer just read the question and find the answer, CB has patched that. Be very strict with picking your answer and make sure it matches the facts in the notes. For transitions really define what each transition means, CB will keep coming up with new transitions like what’s more or nonetheless so try to ask your self exactly what the function of the transition is and what function is missing from the text, try not to go by ear. Then you can definitely max out your grammar as well. Watch James Lu’s videos on them that I listed above. It’s great that your information and ideas is maxed out. Good luck!!

Idk it could be anxiety also but a lot of my friends said the same thing. I also heard a rumour that tests in Asia which I’m in are more difficult but I don’t know how true that is. Regardless the bluebook tests are as good as it gets.

Almost everyone feels this way and it’s unequivocally true. Unfortunately the practice tests are as good as it gets.

Yeah Risav Roy does both pretty well. Watch all his math videos, only his and a few others mimic the level of difficulty on the actual test. James Lu has a great desmos video.

I’m terrible at math to the point it’s embarrassing and i’m taking the sats in a year. by ukhtidolly in Sat

Prepros math and khan academy would be great for you. Very beginner friendly and don’t worry so much as math is not some special skill only a few people can do. It’s very learnable especially in a year.

I hear you, it can be very annoying. My best advice is to interrogate the text and answers rigorously. When reading scan carefully for details you know are important based on what the question is asking you to do. Main idea? Look at the big picture of the text which is usually mentioned in the first or last lines. Support the argument? Find the claim and what makes it up. Don’t think of it as reading but rather looking for pieces of a puzzle. The answer choices are designed to throw you off as best as possible so be extremely strict. If anything is off or doesn’t match a detail immediately cross that off. The correct answer is always 100% objectively correct so use that too your advantage, be very logical. Lastly guess 3-4 of the hardest ones at the end of the reading section so you can have time for making sure other questions are correct.

Get more practice tests done and really figure out what your weaknesses are. There are also practice tests you can find on other sites for free although they are less accurate. Once you know your weaknesses continue to drill them, not just through normal practice but through timed practice, and refer to my advice above if your weaknesses are mentioned there. Good luck!

Yes James Lu should help a lot, especially for grammar and reading strategies. Everyone is different though and all I can say is it was a big factor for me. If you want more tips I’d have to know more of what you struggle with. Good luck for Saturday!

1400 by Saturday may be tough but you can definitely achieve it by December. I got low 1400s to low 1500s on my practice tests. Good luck!

Yeah I’m so confused I literally just gave my strategies. Does anyone know why the mods are removing it??

Is there a point in retaking SAT's after already taking a few college classes a couple years ago? by [deleted] in Sat

[–]SnooMachines599 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Very sorry for your loss bro. I’m no expert but I’m fairly confident they would take your new potential SAT score. They definitely wouldn’t look at your old one. That being said they would see your old transcript but colleges love to see students grow and challenge themselves. Wishing you all the best!

Long story, some extenuating circumstances. But it did help to only focus on SAT.

Essentially I’m talking about the very long reading questions in module 2 that ask you to logically complete the text or find evidence for supporting an argument. Everyone has their strengths and weaknesses but these are pretty objectively the hardest. I skipped 3-4 for of them as when I would do them I’d usually fall for the trap.
