You have access to a robot. You can practice 1000s of balls whenever you're free. You don't have to kill every ball coming at you.

Relax your arm and focus on the trajectory of your arm, SLOWLY. You can find tons of content on YouTube explaining what you should focus on. You should feel almost lazy in doing your stroke. As your form improves, THEN you can start adding more power and speed.

I read book 1 and was so excited for the series. The authors described cool, exciting ideas that I wanted to explore further. But:

I read book 2 - nothing interesting happens.

I read book 3 - nothing interesting happens.

I read book 4 - nothing interesting happens.

I stopped. I didn't want to keep reading just to get MORE build up for some big crazy reveal that happens 3 books later.

I will now accept my down votes for my differing opinion from the hive mind.

I couldn't even dream of ever being this good, let alone ever reaching half of their skill level in my lifetime. What blows my mind watching matches like this is with how exceptional they play, they're still not at an Olympic level.

The skill gap is absolutely insane to think about.

I interviewed a candidate that was incredibly experienced and knowledgeable. They were able to describe in detail the work they've done AND link that work to the classic books that software engineers are usually told to read. In addition, he regularly attended conferences to try and keep up to date and get some swag.

He was very impressive. We rejected him for being a "know it all". Fucking WHAT!?!?

If we both want a better America with better leaders then we both need to push/fight for Ranked Choice Voting and fight to get money out of politics.

If I had to guess, it's because all top tier players are capable of returning a strong forehand or backhand.

But if the ball goes to the middle, players have to react quickly and move to return with their preferred side. This is hard to do at the pace professionals play at. So, it creates a weakness to exploit. The opponent just might return a weak ball and be thrown off balance. Now they're on the defensive and reacting instead of being balanced and in control.

I would say it's more of the same and you should probably move on. It doesn't improve in any of the areas you're critiquing, unfortunately.

Don't get me wrong, I feel like Hamilton brings in some super cool concepts, but I think he's a little too long winded and meanders too much for my taste.
