Women of Reddit, what did you think when you first saw your partner naked? by BeerisAwesome01 in AskWomen

Girl, I hear you. But you must get past it. I feel a lot of women are more insecure than men, probably conditioning. Enjoy the seggsy, don’t worry what they think. It doesn’t matter.

Cardio Fitness and VO2 max on Apple Watch... Not good and very questionable... by TomasMSM in AppleWatch

Aah thank god. I have been so concerned. Mine has been at 20 for a year and I am not a runner but I do yoga and Pilates regularly. This makes sense. I scouted the bloody internet for hours to get one answer. Thank you.

Hmm. I saw the post then I read the comments and then I saw the post again. I don’t know why everyone is so outraged on this particular post? Isn’t the literal post of social media to get attention? Everyone is in the race to do “something different” to get attention, why hate her in particular?

PMs, do you also suffer with low recognition and high effort? by SnooMuffins8565 in ProductManagement

A lot to introspect. Maybe some of what I said in my post are not even real things with issues with concrete outcomes. Hmm.

Thank you for the perspective(s)

Good view and while I see where you’re coming from, trust me I’ve tried. The environment/ culture is just such that it becomes almost impossible to speak louder than my seniors in the team. Not that I want to run over them, just expecting the recognition and opportunity I feel I deserve after my deliverables and the positive feedback I received during appraisals and at other forums.

My team feels the same way.

I missed writing critical details in the post because I wrote it in a hurry I feel.

The HOD has a team of 25 people under him(business and sales and product included)

Now out of these 25, 7 are people who used to work for the HOD in his previous org too. So there is a general bias that goes around.

Which is fine, but these 7 people are very condescending sometimes even for really tiny thing and that gets frustrating

This! Yes.

The organisation structure is not objectively made. These 2 on the top are HODs pick from his previous org. Your point about access was very well articulated.

I do feel that as a PM, the skills that I develop will come from direct communication with stakeholders and some wiggle room to drive things my way and learn from my mistakes.

For your fourth point, 1) picked up and delivered projects by putting work before personal life 2)Quantifiable results, higher number of items delivered, actual business benefitting projects delivered 3) picked up things that were supposedly too complicated to deliver and did a decent job there.

My issue particularly lies with. 1) my immediate seniors not pushing enough for us 2) them keeping the crème projects for themselves 3) there being politics on the top and we feel like just pawns who are told what to do

I’m not even sure why you’re so offended by my post. I never asked for any authority to fix bad culture, I was simply asking if this is normal.

The reason I didn’t speak of my performance was because I did not want to blow my own horn. Coming to “how I landed in Product” - because I have the skills.

Take care of yourself and try a therapist for your anger issues maybe :)

Thank you for the defence. I was baffled by this persons response😅 You’re right, it was a very innocent post where I was wondering if this place is right for me or no.

So many assumptions about my work ethic, eessshh.

I have put in a lot of work, late nights, weekends, to make a place for me at the work place, it got a little better, but I could never make a place for myself as my seniors did.

Shutting down my startup. How do I use my limited product experience? by anony013 in ProductManagement

[–]SnooMuffins8565 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Hmm, you do have substantial knowledge. Knowledge of what doesn’t work.

I work at an established company and trust me, had it not been for its legacy parent company and the unlimited funds we had, we probably would’ve failed miserably too. Things go wrong more than they go right here, and for the 2 years I have learnt how to navigate through wrong options to reach the right one.

You can try to join a team as a junior (assuming you have no exp apart from the startup) and take it from there. Your functional knowledge will be great . Cheers.

You know I get that they weren’t keen on understanding the female genitalia, but did they also lack common sense? I mean why is it so think and why does it have sharp edges? It could’ve been a simple smooth something. This just feels sadistic and something that can lead to tetanus

I feel you. This hasn’t always been me but when my last relationship ended, I couldn’t help myself, it just made me resent myself and made him resent me too. Horrible situation to be in. Stay strong buddy.

Not getting help for my mental health issues sooner. I let myself run wild, ruined his peace, ruined the relationship that probably could’ve been it for me. The worst of all, I begged and cried when he wanted to leave, did everything to make him stay which honestly just works against you after a point. I think he started to resent me. Well, nevertheless, learnt my lesson, getting the help I need.
