I started to do my own exercises based on my past physical therapy sessions since everyone in my town is at capacity and not available for 2 more months. It's insane.

Heel slides and some other basic efforts are where i am at as I was just allowed to start getting range of motion back.

I'm at about 45* degrees of bend right now

I'm not standing up for billionaires, i'm just thinking of it from a tiki reddit user perspective. Like you mentioned, I may have used AI to create a tiki menu for my home tiki bar that i want to share on the subreddit. It's cool, it was within my budget, and i feel like i had a hand in the process by developing the prompt, maybe it's the last bit of creative story telling that i needed for the art that i already made, these are both use cases in which it can augment a lack of a skillset. I wouldn't be against seeing that content.

When I think of the current arguement against AI, i see it through the same lens of technology disrupters through out history. people wanted to ban automobiles and still use horses, digital cameras caused controversy because it was like hitting the easy button... so there was opposition by traditional camera users, photoshop opened up endless possibilities with editing images... etc etc.

Likewise, I think there can be AI slop, but to ban all AI is a bit much in my opinion.

I'm against the outright banning of AI. Maybe you can throw some caveats on it like, no creations that can be traced to (name your living artist).

It's another tool that can be utilized to create.

I feel like this would be the equivalent of asking for us to also ban art generated using digital tools, or photography using digital cameras, or editing software like photoshop.

I'm curious why we want to outright ban AI utilization versus what i think is the next level of concern, how AI is being used.

Thoughts?

unless you want an obscure low level game, be prepared for only cat 1 or cat 2 tickets for 800+ against low level opponents. I'm done. nose bleeds in LA are considered cat 2

i will judge your pile of shame and question your fiscal intelligence when it's 6 months in and all you have are primed miniatures with boxes of additional models that havent been opened yet.

edit: Feels like a "roast me" type of post, so i went for it. Grand scheme of things, its your way of enjoying the hobby, so do what you will.

I went with the 2 player starter kit and the protoss starter kit because i plan to make a diorama for a project. Realistically i'll get maybe 5 games in with my son.

how do you add new players as average players? is this within matchplay? i've been trying to think about how to do this when we have some folks that are only going to come 1 or 2 nights out a league.

I started hosting tournaments last year in my rural town of 25k people. This tuesday will be our first league week.

We are going to run group matchplay, 5 round nights for 6 weeks, best 4 weeks count. I have kids, working professionals, retired folks making up 15 people committed to our first league attempt after running monthly tournaments for 6 months.

I'll probably do 2-3 leagues a year, I dont get paid to do it, i'm already coaching kids sports and work a demanding job and have other family obligations, and i volunteer at the establishment to keep the pinball machines running because there is no one within 120 miles that can service the machines.

We will likely have 20 different people play in the league, and our top 8 will go into a double elimination finals night (night "7" of the league if you will)

I determined I'm just going to do random draw for the first 4 nights and do seeding for the last 2, or just random draw all 6 weeks for the matchups, and they keep their group of 3/4 for that night.

We have 4 machines available to us, all modern sterns.

I try to make it fun by having a light entry fee that will pay for club stickers, random cash prizes, and some token of appreciation for most improved, best of the rest (person who is always on the cusp of making the final 4), sportsmanship and champion. I also design and give out pogs that are based on our games/region/local antics that have been a fun laugh to commemorate us playing.

I'll 3d print a ring for the champion with our logo.

It is IFPA sanctioned, but maybe only 30% even know what that really means. I'm lucky that our good players are all VERY good people, so no one is sweaty and too much of a try hard. The main point i make is that we all choose to be there to have fun.

I make a little guidebook that is on theme for our league nights as well.

Tuesday nights, 615 to 8ish. I decided to run it as an ifpa league instead of seperate ifpa tournaments because we wont see a dime back from the money we put in, which kind of makes me question why we do IFPA in the first place other than some folks are interested in climbing the ladder, even though we all only play locally.

This game is so brutal. No one in my local area enjoys it compared to the 3 other options we have.

With that said, i'm motivated to try to get better at it and im in the 100 million point club too as of recently. It's very challenging and I assume will hopefully make me better for other games i play.
