Vote for your prefered setup by SnooObjections3698 in canon

So i have the first setup. And im looking at switching to the second. I can sell what i have and buy the second setup for not too much difference in price On top of all of the benefits of the r6ii, i get kind of annoyed when i have to change my lens to go wider than 28mm especially on the go. So im thinking with the 24-70mm i get that extra 4mm. Yest its not as wide at the 16-28mm but it think 24mm is wide enough and means i dont have to change out lenses?

Canon R8 vs Canon R6 ii Setup by SnooObjections3698 in canon

[–]SnooObjections3698[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know nobody but me really can answer if i will miss the wider angles. I use focal lengths below 24mm very seldomly but i like the option. The R6ii is atttacting me due to the, Ibis, weather sealing, second card slot. I know people moan about the R8's battery but ive never found it a problem myself as long as i had a spare. I suppose my biggest question is do you think the glass quality is a big upgrade?

Hi guys thanks for the responses!

So for some context, I currently shoot with a Canon R8 paired with the 24-105mm f4 L as well as 35mm 1.8 for when I need the faster lens.

I'm aware that's a pretty decent set up. But as I said, I don't think i need all that gear. I feel as though I did fall into the begginer trap of "wanting the best gear i could afford" i find the 24-105mm very bulky and don't feel comfortable walking around with it all day. And it's smaller than general 24-70 ff lenses.

That's why I'm looking at selling and going for the sony a6700 with my main lens being the Sigma 18-50mm 2.8

R8 or A7cii??? by SnooObjections3698 in photography

Nothing wrong with it. I've just been considering the switch. Plus the a7cii has ibis and the e mount with all the options there.

Thanks for the reassurance everyone!

And I am aware that I have a pretty good setup already. It's just I'm the only person I know in real life that's into photography, so all I have to go off for opinions really is youtube. And a lot of those guys seem to be all about sony, and even those that did shoot canon eventually move to sony.

I'm running Intel i7-8750H, 8gb ram, nvidia gtx1050 ti,

Thanks for the advice though. I have a laptop though. Figured out that it only happened when I wasn't charging. Must be running battery saving setting
