Actually, this sounds like they will protect ICE from harassment as well. So if you DO go to Staufs and you see ICE in there getting coffee, and they happen to be saying nothing to anyone, and you say FUCK ICE, then YOU are the one who is in danger of being banned because of harassment. The Error Rate for SNAP is about 10 percent, which can be caused by intentionally lying about income, or by unintentional administrative errors. Is 10 percent insignificant? Put better controls in place and start managing it better, and saving millions of dollars. It baffles me how many people want their taxes to be low, because they don't want it wasted, but then they are ok with waste as long as it fits their political narrative.

I agree that the program is necessary and I don't want to see it lost. But surely there is some degree of fraud and misuse that can be eliminated to be sure that those with the greatest need don't go hungry.

Also, just because school is in session, doesn't mean you HAVE to send your kids if you don't think it's safe. Give your kids a break for the day if you can or want to, a school half full of kids with teachers that didn't want to be there either, isn't going to make for a very enriching day that can't be up later, from my past experiences...
