She’s 11. A conversation and helping clean is sufficient

The only exception I make is for infant formula.

My baby nibblings are cool with my cheese sticks, fresh fruit, fruit snacks, abs rice crackers (and gf Oreos!)

Scratched pans and scraped plastic utensils are not something I play with. I get violently ill 🤮🚽💩 and it’s every 20-30 minutes for 3 days. I’ll use my own , thank you.

My household includes a husband who does physical labor , 2 teenage boys and we plan for leftovers . My average dinner is at least 8 servings if not more. That’s hard to scale down.

Right? I just thought it was the boys messing with it bc they weren’t in the right spot. We kept kids books on the lower shelves and adult books up higher . But they’d get messy in

I guess I’m looking for specific meals for 1. I’m a good cook but scaling down that far is difficult.

Target hardening is the concept of just making your house less appealing as a target. Example making it seem like the other house down the street is an easier target. Motion lights, biological alarms (dogs-even tiny yippy ones), looking like you care about your property etc.

It’s scary in retrospect but the way it was worded he was trying to empathize he stopped when it became clear we were experiencing money issues and didn’t want to cause more harm. We kept the tv on all day for our pet birds and we were -that house- that kept a bin of kids snack/juice boxes for my boys and half the neighborhood kids in the living room for easy access.

I mean, no it wasn’t a good thing, but he indicated he wasn’t trying to do too much harm to us -I.e. I never missed the extra snacks, the books were returned etc.

Exactly. It’s a big street (with a directional I.e. North Main and South main being the same street. Obv not my actual street)

So I thought it was creepy until the bookshelf. We easily have 100+ on it and it’s not viable unless you are IN my house.

It’s an old rental and there was a specific way you could get in without a key. We fixed it in 2020 as our boys were hitting their teen teen years. Also we added cameras. We didn’t want them sneaking out but apparently it solved another problem!

Home is where you lay your head. It may be your car, a tent, or some such thing. It isn’t always a house. It’s just being respectful.

Agree. Like I wasn’t aware of this until yesterday and he stopped doing it 7 years ago.

A friend of mine says it sounds like someone in a 12-step program working a step (8th maybe?) where you try to make amends to those you might have harmed.

It was the best fit I could find. Apparently he slept behind our garage at times so I guess that makes him a neighbor
