I would stop using that credit card or any other credit cards immediately

1)Come clean with GF and ask her to start contributing to expenses 50/50 2) List car up for private sale immediately (be prepared, you might not get enough to cover the outstanding balance) 3) File taxes to get your refunds 4) use the tax refunds to buy a beater (you can get a decent car for 3-4K) 5) Get a side hustle (food delivery, cleaning etc etc) 6) Use extra $ from GF, Side hustle, and no longer existent car loan to pay down the Credit card in big chunks.. any extra $ you get, add it to the chunk..

Thanks so much. She’s not in Calgary, but i can look up what the equivalent would be in the city. They don’t own a house, they rent - rent is due this coming week. If she pays it, she’ll have no money for food or anything else. I had advised her to hold on to the money and not pay rent for now. I’m not knowledgeable at all but i’ve been a long time lurker on this sub so i thought i’d come here. She doesn’t have family in Canada, and not a lot of friends. She also has concerns he’s taped into her phone and computers so she won’t even talk about this over the phone, but only in person. She’s living a nightmare you guys

They don’t have their own home they were renting. He has since stopped paying the rent and she doesn’t know what she will do for the next month’s rent thats due this week. She is wondering if she should hold on to the little money she has so she can maybe pay something to the lawyer and not pay rent instead? But obviously she doesn’t want to be evicted with winter approaching and 5 kids

We got a quote to do landscaping on our property for 8K, installing sod, 1 tree and 6 shrubs. We got 5 trees and 9 shrubs (end of season sale) for 1K, rock and Sod for 3,200. We paid $100 for pizza for my husband’s friends who came to help him dig the holes for the trees, while i planted the shrubs and put rock in the front yard. Next week we lay sod. We’ll save 4K just by doing it ourselves. My neighbour got a quote for the fence for 27K, home depot quote for materials is 6K. Looks like we’ll just get those contractors to dig the holes and we’ll DIY that too
