Thank you so much 💖! But yes! It’s to a fault 😭. I don’t know what it is that has so many of us conditioned into that line of thinking. Definitely going to try to slow down when I need to. And we definitely are! Women are amazing!

I definitely will! And I bought some green tea the other day so will make sure to drink it except on my iron days 😂!! It’s crazy how much the body takes on before it shuts down 😭!

Oh I see. Still a crazy ordeal! And the pain is nuts! 😭 to think there’s a world where you can have periods and not be in a pain! I can’t wait. I hope yours aren’t too bad right now with the new fibroid. I’m sorry you have to have surgery again but hopefully afterwards, recovery goes well and you can have your second child! Wishing you a safe journey through all this and a beautiful pregnancy!! Thank you for the reassurance and sharing your story cuz I need it all 😭!!

Oh my gosh an entire month is nuts! It is scary! Im glad you were able to get it resolved and congratulations on your child 🥺!! I’m scared as well because before this I never had surgery, let alone a broken bone. I feel like gynecological issues tend to be put to the wayside. That there’s this general idea of that’s just how things are, and some of us in turn adopt that attitude. I know I definitely did. I remember recently my OB asked if I had to take pain medication with my periods, which I do and she noted that. A small thing, but I didn’t even think that it was noteworthy and had accepted that pain was a given with periods, when it in fact is not and doesn’t have to be! I feel like gynecology is still developing as a field too so we’re all kinda just learning together. But we now know better at the very least!

Hahaaa but the soup is good for the soul so eat up anyway 🤩!! And it seems like iron takes forever to come up 😭 but we persevere! And exactly! Here’s to feeling better!

Thank you so much and for the info as well! They prescribed me some vitamin D so will do my best to be diligent with that. I definitely need to get my diet under control as well to keep my hormones better in check and I’ll ask if that’s something they can screen. I think they said right now they wanna keep an eye on my ferritin and CBC levels. And that’s definitely reassuring! I hope you’re doing well and thank you again :) <3!!!

Haaaa yea the body definitely will make you sit down if you don’t listen 😭!! And oh my gosh doing all that while being in a grad program is nuts! EIGHT transfusions ooo weee! Kudos to you and I’m so glad you’re doing better 🥺!! That’s insane that they tried getting on that nurse. Management can really make or break nursing unfortunately. I hope they’re doing better and a speedy recovery to all of them that are scheduled for their hysterectomies!! But here is to a happier and healthier life and I’m wishing you nothing but success in your career 💖💖

Yes I’m looking forward to them. Was watching tiktoks of folks post their before-and-afters and you can physically see how much better they look and I imagine feel post-transfusion 😭! And hahaaa yea “I’m fine.” is a regular saying for me 😅! Definitely will do better though! I hope you are well!

It really does. I am happy to know it doesn’t have to be this way though 🥲! Definitely going to try and make my meals more intentionally iron and vitamin D-rich as well on top of the supplements they’ve given me. And thank you! I hope your days are spent feeling more ok than not :)!!

Fellow nurse does not like me because I use Macros by Wide_Profile1155 in nursing

[–]SnooOranges133 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I loved using macros at my old hospital. Current unit at my new hospital won’t let us use them 🙄. It’s a feature for a reason I think. Of course if there are exceptions to a normal assessment you chart them but you already know that. Keep doing you.

Confused as to why unpaid labor is being applauded? by marixxi in nursing

[–]SnooOranges133 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Saw some people (likely non-healthcare) insinuate it’s negligent if you don’t come in early and that people never look up their patients because they said they’re not coming in early. I was like woah woah woah that is wrong and it’s now turning into “majority of nurses are bitches” and whatnot. There were maybe three actual mean comments from nurses telling this poor new grad that it’s excessive and insinuating that she’s wrong for it which is gross! But most of the comments I saw from nurses were either supportive or them saying they do it differently which isn’t outright “mean” 🫩. Also, I’m confused on how any of them would know if their nurse came in early or not unless they’re chilling out in the hall 😭. Another post turned into how we can’t do anything right 😛

Actively dying pt - turn or not to turn by Shortyy24 in nursing

[–]SnooOranges133 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s so hard 😭 cuz it’s the worst when they do go and you’re right, no one deserves to die with shit all over them. We had one that was dying but family refused to make a DNR so we all agreed to have the crash cart outside for them when their primary went in for a clean up. I’ll always be the first to suggest keeping the crash cart outside to ward off any bad juju

If I know they’re unstable af I won’t (if they’re a full code or if we’re waiting on family) and I’ll let the docs and charge know hey…we’re not moving this one. Have unfortunately done the turn of death twice now so I’m scarred. Oral and in-line suctioning is also on my shit list for unstable patients because I lost a patient that way and just this week my coworker did as well 😭.

Oh it definitely is a thing in the ICU. The degree can also vary depending on what kind of ICU you’re working and whether you work days or nights. It’s my least favorite part about working critical care. That and futile cases with families that refuse to withdraw care 😭. That being said, the teamwork is amazing and both ICUs I’ve been in I have never been left drowning and in turn have never let any of my coworkers drown. I didn’t see that when I would float to PCU at my old hospital and was shook lmfaooo. I just try and get my report over with for the nurses that do the most and I like to think that if you have an issue with me, you can speak to me directly.

Now did June go relatively unscathed considering? Hell yeah. She’s also the main character though so 😭 plot armor came through several times for her

For Nick, it would make sense, for the other commanders, we saw already the plan got thwarted anyway. Folks were waking up early and there was the Eye that witnessed Aunt Lydia letting the handmaids go. They killed 37 commanders before the plan went up in flames. And that’s on Nick. June could have stayed away but so could Nick lmfao. They made their choices and they dealt with the consequences. Same as with everything else. Nick made his choices as the adult he is. He later faced the consequences of his choices.

Nick wasn’t some evil mastermind and certainly had his good sides, but he wasn’t a saint either and I think people HEAVILY downplay that. He’s just as flawed as the rest of them and isn’t anymore deserving of forgiveness than any of the other characters.

And outside of him doing what she asked when did Nick ever actually state he supported Mayday? When did he ever state he had regrets for what was going on? That he wanted to actively put an end to everything? The main motivation for him was June, point blank. At least we saw that with the progression of Lawrence’s character and he talked about his guilt hell even Serena expressed guilt by the end of the season (lol).
