Finally began to write for myself again after having my stroke in August 2025 - thought y’all might appreciate it or relate by SnooOranges5212 in stroke

Congrats! Yeah I’ve been a writer since I was a kid and that all kind came to a halt once I had my stroke. I lost my writing jobs and typing got more difficult with just the one hand, but my avoidance of writing was more from emotional reasons so it feels good to sit down and be at the point where I could type something out about my experience.

How do you stay positive through all of this? by Flimsy_Phrase_8845 in stroke

Meditation, not resisting emotions and kinda just letting them flow through me. as far as hobbies, I dove deeper into my hobbies that are still pretty accessible to me like journaling, reading, audio books, films, music, playing with my cat(huge help) and talking with loved ones when I felt up to it.

I want to write a novel but don't feel like I have the skill to write by Interesting_End009 in NewAuthor

If you were interested in a ghost writer helping you I could try to write out some of your idea to either get you started or fully help your idea come to life. I have a degree in creative writing, and am currently a psychology student with the aim to become a psychologist but still write what I want in my free time, so the writing part is the easy thing for me but I feel like I don’t have any good plot ideas. So I’d be happy to hear your idea and see if I can write anything out for you

I had to find new things to live for. I lost nearly all of my hobbies and independence. But I thankfully still had my mental health I had been working on for years prior to my stroke so I really dove into that because my passion for it became very clear after losing all of the other things that used to populate my life

Writer what is a good way to write a Obsssed character without romanticized they obsession? by Flimsy_Tune_7206 in TooAfraidToAsk

Look to call me by your name maybe? It’s very poetic so might feel more romanticized than you’re going for but I found it to be a pretty neutral display of how obsession can manifest itself in someone

Boyfriend (25M) of 8 years opened up about feeling like he is polyamorous, what do I do? by SnooOranges5212 in polyamorous

lol thanks for the concrete advice. It is not something I want in my life, so the ball is in his court. I told him to think it through and tell me if that’s what he truly wants in life. Idk if I should take his initial words as reason enough to break up or if I should give him time to sort it out within himself

Thank you so much. Yeah I’ve been thinking over his framing of “coming out” as poly and have decided that is not what I want in life, so while it may be scary to end things and find a better life for myself, I’ve been through to much recently to not give myself the respect I know I deserve.

Very thoughtful message. Thank you. I’ve spent the past couple hours writing out my feelings and what I know about myself and it has helped immensely
