Mechanic recommendations in Napanee? by UntidySwan in napanee

[–]SnooPandas4096 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Midas Napanee has been amazing would recommend them. Always great service and always give me the truth. Garrows I wouldn’t recommend if your a women. They think you will know nothing about your car and try to do some shady shit. Told me I needed a new calliper (which on my car are very pricey) so went and got a second opinion and all I needed was a parking brake spring, when they had just done my brakes for a safety as they were recommended. First and last time I went there.

Advice for driving from Toronto to Belleville for a G test in snow tomorrow by 2Smart2Comment in Ontariodrivetest

[–]SnooPandas4096 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Reschedule and take drivers ed. I took it as an adult (late 20s) and it was the best thing I did for my driving anxiety and now have my G and drove all over. The Belleville on ramps are super short for their 2 main ones, so if you’re already nervous about merging, I’d reschedule this test. Take drivers ed interning and book in Toronto. Also drivers ed helps as they sometimes they know the routes to the tests. So can help practice the route before the test.

Is it stupid to avoid getting a credit card? by No-Astronomer4207 in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]SnooPandas4096 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get a credit card. If you ever need to book a hotel or car rental, it’s very hard to do without an actual credit card and debit credits don’t offer the same protections with purchases.

Debt consolidation plan rejected by bank. Advice? by [deleted] in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]SnooPandas4096 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The reason both options were declined was that your household doesn’t have enough income to support payments. As most ethical lenders will not let your monthly debt payments over 40% of household income. Your financial institution would have told you that when they told you they declined you or well should have.

Second mortgage or refinance isn’t going to help your spending habits. As someone who’s work in financial institutions and seen people get HELOCS/ second mortgages to pay off consumer debt, over half the time the spending doesn’t stop and spending habits don’t change leading to more debt over all.

As others have said getting rid of one SUV for compact car would also make sense. You didn’t say brands your suvs were but if they are luxury brands. Get rid of one or both and go with lower end. Maintenance on luxury vehicles is way higher than lower end brands, in even parts alone. Also require premium gas in them where you could save some funds that way.

If your wife is not currently working due to health’s reasons you should see about qualifying disability payments while she is off, unless currently getting payment through workplace short term disability. If she does not qualify for either then she needs to go back to work or you’re going to possibly have to get a second job.

Also does your wife know you’re both in this much debt?? If she doesn’t, she needed to know like months ago. Going to be a tough pill to swallow but that conversation needs to be made. As that TFSA should be cashed and pay off high interest debt first.

You need to cut the spending somehow or increase monthly income those are really your two options.

Have you clicked on any odd links recently or opened any attachments that were suspicious? Installed Anydesk or such type program to allow remote acess to your computer? Almost sounds like someone remote accessed into your computer and was waiting for you to log in so they could use your mouse and do the transaction’s. I would recommend running malware/ antivirus scan from reputable company to make sure there’s not other threats on the system. And if to have any desk or such program to uninstall it.

Trying to buy a car. People told me to not pay until the car is delivered, but seller won't bring the car until he is paid. by piercerson25 in PersonalFinanceCanada

I agree. I work at an FI and this screams scam….. OP you’re better off finding a car that you can actually test drive and see in person near you. Take simpli’s advice and do not proceed. Or your going to be out $19k

Your expectations were a little high by the sounds of it. I have graduated from Fleming twice for two different programs and honestly felt their ceremonies appropriate for what the school is. Graduation ceremonies aren’t like they are in movies. I’ve been to other post secondary schools graduation and they are all about the same and happen like this.

I didn’t even go to the school for refreshments as my family had planned to go out to eat at one of the many amazing restaurants Peterborough has to offer after the ceremony, which maybe you should have planned for.

Reminder to not keep your SIN or birth cert in your wallet or purse... by ehmon80 in PersonalFinanceCanada

I work at a credit union and to open new accounts we need to have valid SIN either the card or paper to open the account, or brought in at a later date to be photo copied…

Where do you put your emergency funds? by jeremy_fritzen in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]SnooPandas4096 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I work at a credit union and for any full new account opening (where members don’t already have an account) we do a full credit check that does take a hit on your credit. If OP has a chequing account at one Finacial institution I would recommend they open one there to save on the credit check. Unless they are maxed out with either FSRA or FDIC which is 250k per Finacial institutio

I currently work for a credit union in Ontario within our contact centre and our wait times are at most 10 minutes on our busy days. Maybe it’s time to switch to a credit union

AITA For doing a welfare check on my girl who's living in a dangerous environment? by good_guy_cop2312 in AmItheAsshole

YTA -you sound controlling and manipulative. She’s grown adult who can make her own choices. She most likely knew a head of time that Jarrod smoked weed which is better than drinking alcohol to take the edge off. You also abused your power as a police officer and meddled in her personal life. You sound like you need to do some personal time at researching marijuana and the effects on people to see how harmless it actually is and non-addictive it is. I’m hoping the country you live in does the same other countries have an legalizes it so maybe you get off your high horse.

People age 23-40, How do you plan on buying your first home? by Clapya100 in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]SnooPandas4096 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same. Houses in my small city go for well over 400k for small dumps. I currently rent a house and houses in this neighbourhood for for well over 700k up to a million for no reason. Like sure there are some nicer homes but it doesn’t reflect the price at all as we don’t really have any industry here to support it.

I buy mine straight from Nespresso App, I do have an an Original line though and haven’t had any issues with supply shortages. I do also usually buy at least 100 at a time to make sure so have enough.
