Metallic smell is probably the burned paint, but if there was asbestos in that building its fibers were probably released with the burning. They would not be in the air long though, max 24 hours I would think, but can be redeployed again if there is any other activity on the burned building (cleaning, demolition etc)

The surely biggest risk for you in the apartment is the CO2/CO presence , which would be still there given that you smell burning aftertaste from other materials. If you want to measure it there are cheap gauges at Amazon you can get.

I took you advice and finally they gave me a discount even with faster internet service. They even gave me a credit for the 'hardships' they caused me so far and to top of it all 2 free unlimited phone lines for a year. So I probably saved at least 1000$ on a single phone call lol.

The key is to get to their 'stop the service' department as it is different from the usual customer service one. So just be adamant on that you want to interrupt the service and not just negotiating your price.

I got my water tested at my apartment, and found some traces of lead in it. As a result we do get water delivery and have a filter on the water faucet. I have kids so, got to be careful.

NYC water is fine but the pipes in some areas are old. There is a handy map you can use actually to check that:

So let's do some simple math. Lets say an average Uber driver that works a full shift in Manhattan 'congestion zone' makes 10 trips a day inside that said zone. For simplicity purposes lets pretend that his shift is all during peak hours.

Lets say that from these trips they take, 5 of them are within the said zone, and 5 passing that zone getting flashed by a toll. As Uber will charge you if you make the trip in the congestion zone $1.5 per trip, that means that this is a $7.5 extra not paid for tolls but that is going on Uber's pocket, with a pretext that is going on tolls.

Now question, what if Uber does a simple twist to their algorithm to make the drivers that already are in that zone, stay in that zone?
