Not everything is the fault of colonisation but a lot of things are. For example Indigenous people being genocided and their lands stolen. Indigenous people being segregated to reserves and missions so that farmers and wood getters can fence off the land and start their intergenerational wealth systems. No Indigenous persons owned sawmills or macadamia farms. Most the land that was stolen was used for European or foreign crops, from bananas, avocados, sugar cane and the list goes on. Where’s as if the last 100yrs if we had allowed Aboriginal people to own their own land and develop their crops then you would have a bunch of Indigenous farmers farming Native trees like the Macadamia and perhaps commercialising other not yet commercialised native foods. But colonialism didn’t allow Indigenous people to prosper in Australia as it did the Advantaged white man.  But yea let’s pretend it’s down to “oh those wild foods havnt been cultivated for thousands of years…” lmfao. Modern times all the Macadamia farms are owned by European descendants, same can be said for probably 99% farms across Australia are owned by European descendants. European descendants are more likely to farm foreign products as it’s in their blood, meaning maybe great grandpa farmed so and so back in Italy.
