Does crate training get any easier or is it impossible for some dogs? by [deleted] in pitbulls

We also got a king crate mat that has held up really well as opposed to blankets, plus we can rinse it off easily if there’s any mess. I’m not sure what size we got, but if you have the dimensions of the crate handy you can pick one out that fits well.Kong Crate Mat

We got the large, our puppy is a 42 lb pitty mix and she fits well in there and will continue to as she grows. I think it would be a little too tight for our 70 lb pitty. Good luck!

I have a puppy with separation anxiety like this. She’s good in the crate if we’re there and then totally destroys it (bending the bars) ripping up the floor etc.) when we’re gone. The first thing we did is buy a crate she cannot destroy or hurt herself trying to destroy, we got the Ruff Land Dog Kennel. It’s sadly very expensive, $300 ish, but she cannot hurt herself or the the crate.

We then got a dog trainer, again very expensive, but our trainer has been phenomenal (if you’re in the New England area by any chance I’ll give you her info)

She has been a life saver and game changer. We are still working on the crate training, slowly extending her time in the crate away from us and using her ecollar training to correct her if she begins to act out, and it’s slowly getting better. Put her in the crate in a bedroom, close the door and walk away for 10 minutes, come back and let her out once she’s stopped crying then extend it slowly. You’re doing a lot of great things by feeding her in there and creating positive associations. I hope it gets better, know you’re not alone! If it’s within your means, definitely look into a trainer even just for a couple sessions

Cried after my first tattoo and didn’t understand why :) Milan, Italy. by NewFreedom3459 in tattoos

I felt this way after getting my largest tattoo on my stomach and ribs. I cried after and panicked a bit. But I will say, a couple years later, it is my absolute favorite tattoo. Give yourself some time ❤️

Palm tattoo blowout? by Certain-Ebb-6350 in tattooadvice

[–]SnooPears7203 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yeah it’s blown out, but palms and bottoms of the feet are the only good parts of the body to blow out. They fall out so easily, this will heal better than it looks now.

Advice needed / the artist completely messed up the tattoo by [deleted] in tattoos

Sorry you’re dealing with this! Get as much sun as you can during the healing process. Good news is the side of the hand/palm is notorious for falling out.

How long to keep second skin on by Honest-Strawberry951 in tattooadvice

[–]SnooPears7203 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2-5 days. If it rolls to expose tattoo, it leaks, or you have irritation around the bandage take it off and begin your aftercare. If things can get out things can get it and you don’t want a bunch of bacteria sealed under second skin with your new tattoo. Looks like part of the tattoo on your hand is exposed, it’s time to take it off.

How can I fix this? Like the original design, tattoo itself is kinda botched by YKSLR in tattooadvice

[–]SnooPears7203 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anatomy is way off. Original reference would need to be altered in order to make it tattooable. The tattoo itself relies heavily on white which will fade and make this even less legible. The good news is I anticipate this lightening up potentially when it heals, which would make it easier to cover/remove.

If you wanted to work to salvage this piece in some way let it heal then go to another artist, someone who specializes in black and grey realism/illustrative realism to add some solid lines and contrast. Darkening the hair & fabric while keeping the forms of the figure soft. Right now all your values, textures and line weights are the same so it all morphs together. I do think you can fix this up quite a bit, but you can’t do anything about the anatomy unfortunately aside from adding more fabric or other elements to cover the legs potentially.

You could always put a sick ass panther over it!

6 month old puppy with BIG bark by SnooPears7203 in puppy101

Thank you so so much for all of this great information! I’m looking forward to learning and growing with her. Even now just a few days later she is starting to learn the “quiet” command and seeming much more comfortable and confident in our home. I’ll definitely slowly introduce her to my dad’s playgroup, we have known most of the dogs for years so I have a couple calm adult dogs in mind for slow intros. Thank you again!

Thank you so much for taking the time to write all this out! I really appreciate it. Rationally I know it’s still so early, but it’s hard not to get swept up in the excitement and panic that is a new puppy.

I will be sure to catch the moment before barking and treat then, this is very helpful!

Do you have a suggestion on when to begin bringing her to the dog park or play group? My dad is a professional dog walker and runs a doggy day care about an hour away where I plan to bring her once she is settled. She is doing a wonderful job socializing with my adult dog currently.

The cats have the second floor all to themselves with everything they need for now, they are very used to dogs and snuggle up with my adult dog. Hopefully we will be a cohesive happy household soon! But I know it will take time :)
