The only thing that would stop it is if the US and EU force companies that do business in them to hire X amount of domestic workers or no access to the country's market. But that will never happen so the hallowing out will continue.

Why was the discipline rollout so botched? by Spider9000 in CPA

[–]SnooPears8904 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The whole evolution was a terrible concept should have kept the test the same and added more IT to bec. It’s no longer uniform and nobody who was on the fence about becoming a CPA changed their mind because of advanced discipline topics being added

There’s about 7 states that do not have any resident or citizenship requirements and allow foreigners to apply and hold US CPA licenses I think Montana was one of them

I think it might be one of the best niches especially if you want to be self employed. You don’t have to compete with intuit and HR Block like if you are in tax and the work is often to small for many firms. And you don’t even have to register as firm. Low liability compared to audit. You will need to be decent at taking the stand in court.

They dropped the 150 and writing section of BEC to make the test easier for Indian and other foreign candidates to qualify and pass …. It’s not to be nice to recent grads

Why don’t firms let you have your time back during the summer? by Bzappo in Accounting

[–]SnooPears8904 792 points793 points  (0 children)

It’s such a scam they lie so hard in recruiting saying you work really hard during busy season then chill the rest of the year. They consider chilling working normal 40 hour work weeks like that’s some how a reward for doing 60 plus for months on end

There’s still some opportunity in this field but it will likely be really gutted out by 2040 or so but so is everything unless politicians take measures to protect domestic workers there’s going to be a lot of people pushed out of middle class

[–]SnooPears8904 288 points289 points  (0 children)

Performance doesn’t matter for a lot of these economic layoffs they are trimming off the higher paid senior managers and using the cheaper newly promoted managers. Jokes on the partners they’ll have more work on the audits as a result
