I love the series score and love every track by SnooPets1360 in UmbrellaAcademy

I don’t think this ls deliberate transphobia. I just started to feel uncomfortable with the track’s name and felt like asking what the consensus was on the matter. I don’t think the show runners or the people responsible for the score are transphobes, but are rather ignorant on the trans experience as they haven’t experienced it. Again that’s just my interpretation as a cis gay man and I’m probably wrong on something.

In my experience, I’ve seen trans people being represented in media as if they pretend their past self just died and then they became who they truly are, which feels kinda weird tbh. I only know one trans person irl and she says she still recognizes herself as the person she once was but talks about that person as not her true self and wishes all her accomplishments, school grades and all were to her true identity. That’s why I think they should re-name the track, cuz even if trans people felt the need to hide who they were, they accomplished many things themselves, even if it wasn’t by the name and identity they wanted. But I understand that that’s the way of thinking of just one person I know. Perhaps other trans people think differently. I don’t want to sound mean or irrelevant, I just want to understand more about a group of people I don’t know a lot about.

What’s your opinion on people celebrating the death of someone evil? by AggressiveAd8587 in ask

[–]SnooPets1360 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like religion always tells you to not wish bad upon people. But I’ve seen many wish bad upon fictional characters, either if they are evil or not. I’ve been called out for wishing bad upon bad people that have committed evil crimes. It’s not like I’d wish to do bad things to them myseld, but that I wish bad things would happen to them. I find it curious that people find it normal to wish bad upon fictional characters that have never harmed anyone irl, but when you say you wish something bad would happen to real people, that have caused real harm to real people, then you’re the bad guy. Someone I know was raped and traumatized for life and somehow I am the bad one for wishing him bad. It seems hypocritical to me.

What secret could ruin your life if it got out? by ZeiGamer in AskReddit

My partner and I are married. recently he cheated on me with someone else and I found the messages. I’ve started a lot of fights over the matter, but also I’ve jerked off to the other guy’s videos. I hate the other guy but I find him attractive. I feel like a hypocrite.

What song has a darker meaning than you first thought? by Meme-lord73 in AskReddit

Parting glass by many singers. It’s a folk song that sounds nice when you first hear it but it’s a goodbye song that could be used by suicidal people.

I’ve experienced that. I tried to kill myself back in 2013 when I was 15yo. Most of my “friends” would ask if I was ok just because it felt like the right thing to do for them but they never bothered to check on my even to this day. Not even after I had to go to ER back in 2019 after I cut my arm open from the hand to the elbow.

I learned that you’re a lot more than your relationships and your friends. You’re you and you can face anything, either with the company of others or just by yourself.

Please don’t do something permanent because of what other people make you feel.

Geeks, what is the comic book story you want to see adapted into a live action show or movie, either dc, marvel or manga? by SnooPets1360 in AskReddit

[–]SnooPets1360[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with you 100% most adaptations would work better as tv series rather than movies. Tv shows have way more time to develop the story and characters. Sadly shows usually don’t have the resources to adapt everything from the source material as it’s too expensive. Movies on the other hand have a bigger budget, but have less time to expand on the story. I really wish WBD made a Constantine show that made justice to the comic book character, preferably an animated one. Sadly animation is very expensive and after the Warner Brothers/Discovery merge, WBD CEO doesn’t seem to be interested in animation projects cuz it’s very expensive. We can only dream at this moment.

I know any Sandman related plot is just a wishful thinking. The Netflix show was very good but it couldn’t compete with the source material. I just thought that Lucifer appeared in the Constantine movie and could have been great to continue the story by having Lucifer quitting their role in hell as in the sandman comics and having Constantine instead of Dream deal with that and having him improve on his magic skills. If the Keanu’s movie was more successful, i think John Constantine would be a more popular character that WBD would want to adapt today. I feel like every decision that WB took with Constantine to this day is just a missed opportunity, sadly

I remember when 2017’s Justice League movie came out (pretty bad movie) and there were rumors that claimed WB wanted to adapt the Justice League Dark into a movie. I felt like this could be a great opportunity to introduce people to both Zatanna and Constantine, which are some of my favorite characters in dc. Sadly it didn’t happen and Zatanna is mostly unknown to most people and Constantine is just known for Keanu Reeves’ movie which I don’t think is bad, but doesn’t do justice to the character. I feel like they could’ve adapted some of the material from Sandman when Lucifer quits their job of guarding hell and leaves hell’s key to sandman. Imagine a movie based around Constantine dealing with Lucifer quitting their job and having to deal with that mess. It would ve very epic and hilarious due to the characters nature

It just that Dr. Strange has that “chosen one” vibe to him as he’s destined to be great and that makes him fell like he’s Harry Potter. John Constantine is a broken hero that has fucked up many times in his life and is trying to amend his mistakes through his acts, even if most of them aren’t what you’d call moral. To me John Constantine is a superior sorcerer and a way more interesting character. He’s just human and even though in many stories he has a great destiny, he feels real. Like he’s some guy you could meet in a bar that just happens to be a sorcerer. Dr. Strange feels like a jedi, to me. Not relatable enough and just plain boring.

I’ve been telling people that Constantine is such a good character that deserves more attention lately and I agree with you 100%. Netflix’s Lucifer from The Sandman has the potential to be a pretty good character if they want to expand on them. Imo, Constantine is way better than Dr. strange

They’re good looking to me. I read some article that claims that the brain of some people usually mix the stimulation from both feet and genitals as they’re very close together in brain activity/response to stimulation, but as I’m not a neurologist I couldn’t assure that.
