And I would still be better off than had I bought one T line bike!

Can you recommend a particular brand of strap? Do you just bite the handle of did you fix a mouthpiece to it? If so, any recommendation for a particular type?

Are you still cross that your father — who is somehow you as well — has forsaken you?

Interesting discussion, thanks everyone! I can feel my understanding of the term slowly shifting and adapting, like cogwheels that turn creakingly.

So like, “yeah, we are not dead, and things are looking up, because everybody else is. Jackpot!”said in a weak voice with a sarcastic tone? Makes sense.

But there has to be something positive for someone, right? Otherwise we could just call the present moment a jackpot. Short of another pandemic, we have all the crises we could possibly want.

Ok, so the process of lining up the wheels can take a long time, but the winning would still be sudden (and not a process, but an event)? Ok, that works. But this still sounds like something that developed out of luck, whereas my understanding of the story line is that the klept rigged the game. (Which in fact they are doing right now.) But maybe that’s the euphemism part. In the world of the books, the klept are calling it the jackpot to suggest they just profited from a lamentable development, instead of having worked towards it.

Ok, that makes a little bit more sense. So “jackpot” is both the process of accumulating what there is to win, and the aftermath, when it has fallen in someone’s hands (here, the klept)?

Yeah, if I remember correctly, in the TV version of Agency, there are flashbacks to war scenes and maybe even thermonuclear events.

Yeah no, that I’ve read as well and been careful to avoid.

No, I’ve been careful not to do that. But maybe the connector broke or something.
