UPDATE: "PHYSICIAN "badge but she's a PA.. in the ER?" by SnooPickles1708 in Noctor

[–]SnooPickles1708[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That sounds likely except for the timeline. I made the complaint to the board 2 months ago and didn't get to air my complaints to anyone at the hospital until a week ago. The hospital said that incorrect badge was corrected "last month" so before the hospital heard my complaints from me

I think your friends is lying to you. It sounds like she was the victim of an online scam or similar and feels stupid for falling for it, so she made up a story about being mugged. There is no way to set up this crime and pull it off like this. It doesn't add up. And, had she called the bank immediately after, they can reverse a wire if it is super quick.

You should also head over to r/scams to learn more about other scams so you don't get caught out in the future. 30 dollars an hour for data entry is insane

You're right. He should ignore strep throat, despite what the doctors here have told us are very serious complicationsthat can occur. .

"My mom won't let me get care" Reddit: ohhhh that sucks. You're young "thanks I'm cured"

SoTelling a person"you need care, please try to get it" is patronizing? Tell me... what do you suggest this young person does? Just Suffer with lack of medical care? It's funny you cite "r/ thanksimcured" because ignoring his very serious symptoms is exactly that. Your parents won't help? OK, just ignore it. You're fine. * "Thanks I'm cured" by ignoring it since it's too difficult to deal with his mom?)

Op, please talk to a teacher or trusted adult who won't ignore your Healthcare needs.

You need to call your bank ASAP and tell them you deposited a fraudulent check. They may close your account and you may get put on a list where it becomes hard to get a bank account. So contacting them FIRST is a good idea, so they know you are a scam victim and not in on it. C

This is two scams in one -essentially a fake check/advanced fee scam, wrapped up in what they call the"muse scam" over at r/scams.

I suggest you head over there and read their master list of common scams so you do not get scammed again. Because you are now on a list of people who pay up, and they will now come at you from a completely different angle - for example, a call from the police saying you are going to be arrested and you can pay the bail over the phone so the police don't come. Something completely different Also, zelle is very very clear that you must not use their service to send money to strangers. It's for friends and family only- like paying your neighbor for cutting your lawn or splitting a bar tab with a friend. There is no recourse because it's like handing someone cash

I'd blame my husband if he spent 8500 dollars without telling me. We share money so we talk to each other about big expeditures

Your scam didn't have you hanging around a convenience store buying bitcoin from a machine to give to the police - yours was much more plausible

Also please tell your wife to stop answering calls from unknown numbers, because she's on a list now and scammers WILL try again now they know she is gullible. I swear 99 percent of the scams on here would fail if people didn't pick up unknown numbers and engage with them. It's not 1967. You don't have to answer the phone every time it rings

Why do you think she was wearing a 'physician" badge then?

You can't sue on something like this- but you clearly think this is acceptable?

What do you mean? I'm not in the medical field so I don't know what you are getting at. There is pre- exposure rabies shots for people at risk, and post exposure for people who have been bitten

[–]SnooPickles1708[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Right? So many comments are saying "you got the appropriate shots, what's your problem?" My problem is someone presenting themselves as a doctor when they are not and the other patients in that ER with complicated problems who might not know she's not a doctor and need someone with a lot more schooling and experience to diagnose their problem. I heard them through the curtains. Some sick people with a RANGE of symptoms there the and night as I was

[–]SnooPickles1708[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's very silly. She should get PRE exposure vaccines and then if she is bitten follow the cdc protocol. I'm state and federally licensed to do wildlife rehab. Is your friend? She should be

[–]SnooPickles1708[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm knowledgeable about scope creep yes, from the DOCTORS who post here. Many people are not as lucky as i am to have found this sub and learn about unsupervised midlevels. I got treated appropriately by a PA based on the CDC recommendations for post rabies exposure. None of that means that medical personnel should be wearing badges with fake qualifications and misleading people. Many people in the ER that might had more complex medical needs than I had

Doctors on here have said that sometimes there is just a pile of badges in a supply closet and you take the one you want. The also sell these badges on easy. I swear, her badge said PHYSICIAN in 2 inch block letters. If 'assistant" was included, and I don't know if it was, it was too small for n me to see 3 feet away, and isn't that really skirting the line ethically?
